Abstract

zForce Touch Screen

Neonode has patented and commercialized the zForce (an abbreviation for zero force necessary) touch technology, which was designed to overcome many of the limitations of todays touchscreens. The premise of the Companys approach entails the projection of an infrared grid across an electronic display. As users tap, swipe, or write on the screen, zForce detects the location of the touch based on the interruption in infrared light projecting across the screen, which translates to coordinates on the grid. The zForce architecture and input method is believed to be unique to Neonode. A zForce Touch Screen can be activated by multiple modes of input, including bare fingers, gloves, styluses, and (multiple simultaneous touches). It is uncommon today to find both of pens, as well as recognizes multi-touch these features innately built into the same touchscreen. The resistive touch technology used on most PDAs to recognize stylus writing works as a spot on the screen is pressed inward, causing one layer of the touchscreen to make contact with a layer beneath. This contact sends a signal to the device to recognize the touch. Although relatively low cost, resistive touchscreens do not typically allow multi-touch (swiping, gesturing)

Abstract Real time image processing

Image processing is any form of signal processing for which the input is an image, such as a photograph or video frame, the output of image processing may be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to the image. Most image processing techniques involve treating the image as a two dimensional signal and applying standard signal-processing techniques to it. The multidisciplinary field of real-time image processing has experienced a an explosion over the past several years. The purpose of real-time image processing is to improve the motion picture quality by removing the disturbance inside the series. It is designed to provide recommendations and help link the gap between the concept and the practice of picture and movie handling by providing a wide summary of proven algorithmic, components, application programs and strategies. RTIP includes many factors of application and components in order to achieve great definition feedback, low latency catch, powerful handling, and, efficient, display. An image may be considered to contain sub-images sometimes referred to as regions-ofinterest, ROIs, or simply regions. This concept reflects the fact that images frequently contain collections of objects each of which can be the basis for a region. In a sophisticated image processing system it should be possible to apply specific image processing operations to selected regions. Thus one part of an image (region) might be processed to suppress motion blur while another part might be processed to improve color rendition.

Abstract HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)

HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is a specification that combines video and audio into a single digital interface for use with digital versatile disc (DVD) players, digital television (DTV) players, set-top boxes, and other audiovisual devices. The basis for HDMI is High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and the core technology of Digital Visual Interface (DVI). HDCP is an Intel specification used to protect digital content transmitted and received by DVI-compliant displays.

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an interface standard used for audiovisual equipment such as high-definition television and home theater systems. With 19 wires wrapped in a single cable that resembles a USB wire, HDMI is able to carry a bandwidth of 5 Gbps (gigabits per second). This is more than twice the bandwidth needed to transmit multi-channel audio and video, future-proofing HDMI for some time to come. This and several other factors make HDMI much more desirable than its predecessors, component video, S-Video and composite video.

HDMI is an uncompressed, all-digital signal, while the aforementioned interfaces are all analog. With an analog interface, a clean digital source is translated into less precise analog, sent to the television, then converted back to a digital signal to display on screen. At each translation, the digital signal loses integrity, resulting in some distortion of picture quality. HDMI preserves the source signal, eliminating analog conversion to deliver the sharpest, richest, picture, possible.

Previous video interfaces required separate audio cables, with the vast majority of people using standard RCA L/R analog audio jacks. HDMI, with its abundant bandwidth and speed, carries not only video but also up to eight digital audio channels for uncompromised surround-sound. It replaces the tangle of wires behind the system with a single cable, greatly simplifying the entire setup process of the home theater system while delivering top tier performance.

ABSTRACT

Gi-Fi
Gi-Fi or Gigabit Wireless is the worlds first transceiver integrated on a single chip that operates at 60GHz on the CMOS process. It will allow wireless transfer of audio and video data at up to 5 gigabits per second, ten times the current maximum wireless transfer rate, at one-tenth the cost.NICTA researchers have chosen to develop this technology in the 57-64GHz unlicensed frequency band as the millimeter-wave range of the spectrum makes possible high component on-chip integration as well as allowing for the integration of very small high gain arrays. The available 7GHz of spectrum results in very high data rates, up to 5 gigabits per second to users within an indoor environment, usually within a range of 10 meters.

The new technology is predicted to revolutionize the way household gadgets talk to each other. It was developed by the Melbourne University-based laboratories of NICTA (National ICT Australia Limited), Australias Information and Communications Technology Research Centre of Excellence.

Abstract Leap Motion(Hands Free)

Leap motion : It is a breakthrough in computer interaction, using a patented mathematical approach to 3D,touch free motion sensing & motion control software thats alike anything that currently exist on the market. Through this new technology we can say good bye to Mouse & Keyboard .Leap represents an entirely new way to interact with our computers Its more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touch screen. We can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements Leap Motion has, well, leapfrogged the state of the art in this young field, giving users the ability to control what's on their computers with hundredth of millimetre accuracy and introducing touch-free gestures like pinch-to-zoom.

Abstract Surface Computer

A surface computer is a computer that interacts with the user through the surface of an ordinary object, rather than through a monitor and keyboard.

The category was created by Microsoft with Surface (codenamed Milan), the surface computer from Microsoft which was based entirely on a Multi-Touch interface and using a coffee-table like design, and was unveiled on 30 May 2007. Users can interact with the machine by touching or dragging their fingertips and objects such as paintbrushes across the screen, or by setting real-world items tagged with special bar-code labels on top of it.

The Surface is a horizontal display on a table-like form. Somewhat similar to the iPhone, the Surface has a screen that can incorporate multiple touches and thus uses them to navigate multimedia content. Unlike the iPhone, which uses fingers' electrical properties to detect touch, the Surface utilizes a system of infrared cameras to detect input. Uploading digital files only requires each object (e.g. a Bluetooth-enabled digital camera) to be placed on the Surface. People can physically move around the picture across the screen with their hands, or even shrink or enlarge them. The first units of the Surface will be information kiosks in the Harrah's family of casinos.

Abstract Low-Power Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an ad-hoc network technology comprising even thousands of autonomic and self-organizing nodes that combine environmental sensing, data processing, and wireless networking. The applications for sensor networks range from home and industrial environments to military uses. Unlike the traditional computer networks, a WSN is application-oriented and deployed for a specific task. WSNs are data centric, which means that messages are not send to individual nodes but to geographical locations or regions based on the data content. A WSN node is typically battery powered and characterized by extremely small size and low cost.
