All door jambs, headers, and casings shall be factory dressed and approved by the Architect. Follow details shown on drawings.

FIELD PAINTING 1 Prior to or immediately after doors have been erected, wood surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned, puttied (masilla), sandpapered, rubbed and polished prior to painting. Door sash, jambs, headers, and casing shall be puttied and sealed sprayed with automotive lacquer and polished.

The Work shall be made in accordance with detailed drawings and measurement taken at the job site. Works shall be assembled at the mill, and delivered ready for erection. When it is necessary to cut and fit on the job, the materials shall be made with ample allowance for cutting.

PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION A All wood doors shall be set plumb and true, securely anchored and held in alignment during construction. Doorjambs and headers shall be carefully adjusted before sash doors are installed. Provide reinforced concrete grouting or sub-frame set in CHB wall to which the finished doorjambs and headers are attached. The Contractor shall make all allowances necessary to properly receive the hardware to be used. All hardware, except butts shall be attached after all painting is completed. Set frames properly and brace against displacement during construction operations.

PART 4 SUBMITTALS 4.1 SHOP DRAWINGS A. Shop Drawings shall be furnished for approval of the Architect, and shall show material and construction, as well as size of finished work. Contractor to verify field dimensions. Complete Door Schedule submission to Architect mandatory prior to ordering of doors.
