Philippians 2:12, “…work out you own salvation with fear and trembling.”

of Is your life really any different from the next guy? Do you watch the same
television shows? Rent the same movies? Enjoy the same books? Fads?

5 You Cannot Serve Christ & The World (Self) – Must Choose
God will not share your devotion with anything else - fill in the blank (money, self, possessions,
relationships, career, hobbies, collections, philosophy, etc.). These things become IDOLS. God
demands total devotion or there will come a time of total separation.
Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the
other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
James 4:8, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners;
and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.”
Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
2 Corinthians 6:17, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the
Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
1 John 5:4-5, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory
that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God”
Don’t sow to the flesh! – Galatians 6:8 Titus 2:11-12, James 1:27
Matthew 15:18, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the
heart; and they defile the man.” What do you put in your heart?
Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever thing, are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on
these things.” What does the TV teach your children?
Romans 6:9-13, “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no
more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he
liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto
God through Jesus Christ our Lord; Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye
should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead,
and your members of righteousness unto God.”
Romans 6:16, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye
are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
1 John 3:8-9, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy
the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his
seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”
12 So What Is Grace?
Be Righteous and John 3:16
Holy
Titus 2:11-14, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to
all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should
live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that
blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity
(sin), and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
You say you believe in God Mere head knowledge (agreeing with the facts of
Christ’s life is not sufficient. You’ll be lacking!
James 3:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe,
and tremble.” Why do the demons tremble? Because they are in rebellion to God and are
destined for the lake of fire. Are you in rebellion (what does your life say)?
Faith without works is dead….James 2:17-18 Ephesians 4:7
13 Do You Seek to Know God and His Will in Your Life?
Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled.” Seek ye first the kingdom of God Matthew 6:33
James 4:8, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye
sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.” His way or the highway (to hell)
Luke 11:9-10, “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall
find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he
that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
Acts 17:27, “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find
him, though he be not far from every one of us.”
Proverb 8:17, “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
Perhaps you work God into your life around your will?
Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him, while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return
unto the Lord, and he will have mercy on him.” Supreme commitment to Christ
Proverb 28:13, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and
forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Submit to Jesus as Lord of your Life! - Acts 2:36
Repentance focuses on what must be released and forsaken (sins) prior to what may be
gained (mercy and grace). There is a fundamental difference between a Christian and
2 Peter 3:9, Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 59:2, an unbeliever. The Christian lives to Glorify God, the
Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19, Psalm 86:5 sinner rejects God's claim on his life and lives to please
himself.
17 Repentance
Sorrow and regret for past sins is not sufficient. The old wicked nature and sinful lifestyle must
be abandoned. Biblical faith demands and produces costly and radical changes in one’s life.
John the Baptist taught repentance in preparing the way for Christ: Mark 1:3-4, “The voice of
one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John
did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
Jesus taught repentance: Luke 5:32, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye
and believe the gospel.” (also Mark 2:17). Luke 13:3, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye
shall all likewise perish.” Turn and Forsake the old way
Christ’s disciples taught repentance: Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christfor the remission of sins and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Mark, 6:12, “And they went out and preached that men
should repent.” Supreme Commitment to Christ
Jesus said: Luke 24:47, “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his
name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
2 Corinthians 5:15, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not
henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again.”
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of
God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (also 2 Timothy 2:11)
Matthew 16:25, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will
lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
If you live for yourself,
John 3:30, Luke 9:24 you will die eternally!
19 Has The Old Man Really Died?
The old man would be that self-willed, self-seeking, rebellious, sinful person that does what is
right in his own eyes. One determined to live according to his own will in a manner based upon
his own fleshly desires. If you live as the world then you have not let go of the old man.
Romans 6:4-6, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the
likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body
of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
Ephesians 4:22-24, “That ye put off concerning the former conversation (life) the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye
put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
24 Some present God as having unconditional love and accepting of bad behavior (2 Peter 2:1-6).
Of course there are conditions! – there is a lake of fire that multitudes will be cast into (it
wouldn’t exist without conditions). You must repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord.
You must love and follow him otherwise you are just an unrepentant rebellious sinful person –
perhaps deceived on top of that! God proved His love by sending his Son (John 3:16) and
continues to by being longsuffering toward you that you will not perish but come to
repentance (2 Peter 3:9). How will you respond?
Seek His Kingdom!
Keep His Commandments
Repent!
LOVE Forgive Others
26 Confusion? Always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Theologians love to debate how one is saved, when one is saved, if salvation can be lost, how
much sin is too much, if you know for sure your saved, if you have fallen away can you come
back, about a gift (salvation) being free and not requiring anything, ARRRGGGG – Its all so
confusing and unnecessary. Usually people just want to know how little they can do and still
be OK, or how much compromise is allowed. They want a security without a commitment – A
Savior and not a Lord, plain and simple.
Dont Be Deceived!
If you truly love the Lord (Jesus) and He is THE focus of your life and you obey Him and keep
His commandments and cleave to Him while enduring to the end, then you will be saved – no
doubt. If you do not do this (or continue therein) then you have reason to fear and be troubled.
Deuteronomy 13:4, “Ye shall walk Mark 12:30, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy
after the Lord your God, and fear God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
Him, and keep His commandments, with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this
and obey His voice, and ye shall is the first commandment.”
serve Him, and cleave unto Him.” He must be Lord of all!
1 John 1:6, “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do
not the truth:”
Luke 6:46, “And why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not
the things which I say?”
Hebrews 10:38, “Now the just shall live by faith: But if any man draw back, my soul shall have
no pleasure in him.”
Luke 9:62, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking
back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Titus 1:16, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable,
and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate (worthless).” 2 Timothy 3:5
31 Do you Confess Christ Before Men? Are You Ashamed?
The world has no problem proclaiming theirwicked or beliefs. Do
deeds
you zealously confess Jesus before men? Your silence may be deafening!
Matthew 10:32-33, “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I
confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me
before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!
Philippians 2:11
Luke 12:8-9, “Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men,
him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that
denieth me before men, shall be denied before the angels of God.” You will wish you
had one day
Mark 8:38, “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and my words in this
adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed,

Father, and before his angels.”
Colossians 1:21-23, “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind
by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to
present you holy and unblameable and unreprovable in his sight: If ye continue in the
faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which
ye have heard…”
Matthew 10:22, “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth
to the end shall be saved.” (Also Mark 13:13)
Acts 14:22, “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the
faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
Luke 6:22, “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from
their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s
sake.
John 15:18-19, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye
were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I
have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (also v20 & 1 Peter 4:1-2)
Deuteronomy 13:4, “Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his
commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into
judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
1 John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And
hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”
Revelation 22:14, “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the
tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Also Revelation 12:17,14:12)
