S THE song goes from the 70s, hes the Long Haired Lover From Liverpool and today, Jimmy Osmond has still got a full head of hair and an even longer following of fans. The Osmonds, Gareth Gates, Louisa Lytton, Andy Abraham, Chico and Shane Richie Junior will take to the stage at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday, April 2 in Boogie Nights. The Osmonds will return from the USA as special guest stars, performing their own hits and a range of classics they are not normally associated with. Jimmy first appeared in the award-winning Boogie Nights musical in 2004. The 2013 Boogie Nights will be a remixed concert version of the ultimate party show. Jimmy said: Im thrilled to once again be a part of the amazing energy of this great show. My brothers, Merrill and Jay, and I had so much fun on our 2012 record-breaking tour, Im excited they have agreed to join in on the fun and continue the party. They are really looking forward to doing a little something different than our usual concert appearances. Its a really fun play its like the Grease of the 70s. Its the youth of people they are not coming to see us, they are coming to experience their life in music because music was a big part of their youth and thats what makes it fun. What often happens when youre playing a gig is you see mums who were around in the 1970s bringing their daughters with them. Its something that keeps on going. Jimmy said he had lots of musical inspirations. I looked up to Stevie Wonder, Ive worked with the Bee Gees Maurice Gibb produced an album for The Osmonds, he said. There are a lot of entertainers that I was friends with and a lot of them are gone now. For instance, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra used to be my mentors and its funny to say they were my mentors because they have legendary status. Boogie Nights was the West Ends original jukebox musical, conceived by Jon Conway and Shane Richie in 1997. It follows the hilarious and heart-warming story of Roddy ONeil. Set in a provincial

Showbiz runs in the family for The Osmonds and with a career spanning five decades, its no surprise they are still performing today. Entertainment reporter SELINA MAYCOCK speaks to the youngest member Jimmy Osmond as he and his brothers prepare to perform in Boogie Nights The 70s Musical in Concert
British town in the height of the disco scene, it completed five UK tours after its London success and has also toured the world. In this show, The Osmonds will perform a range of classic hits, including their own Crazy Horses and Love Me For A Reason. Away from music, Jimmy has starred in

the last tour, which was our biggest, with 50 dates. Ive also done some of my own concert tours just me, my four kids and my wife playing down in Florida which went really well. As a solo artist, Jimmy has accumulated six gold records, one platinum record and two gold ITVs Im A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here, and Channel 4s Come Dine With albums. He is also in the Guinness Book Of Me. He said:Ive been pretty busy since World Records, as the youngest artist to have a number one record on the UK charts. And the

attention he got from fans when he was younger is still there today. Jimmy said: I get noticed quite a lot still, people are gracious. If Im coming out of a pub in London, people often say Jimmy hows it going? I always give an autograph if people ask me for it and even if theyre going to resell it on the internet, it doesnt bother me because its quite easy to get out of showbiz. You set yourself up to be in this business so you have to be cool to people. Part of the music industry is to be untouchable and thats what we were in the 1970s and it causes more excitement. Joining The Osmonds on the Boogie Nights tour is Pop Idol

2002 finalist Gareth Gates, who will play heart-throb Dean. Gareth has previously appeared in West End classics such as Les Misrables and Legally Blonde. In this show he will perform a range of pop classics, covering If You Leave Me Now and Disco Infer no. He will also sing a feature with The Osmonds, including a cover of Donnys Puppy Love. Gareth said: Im really excited about getting back on stage to sing all the hits from this era, as a lot of the tracks are personal favourites of mine. Its going to be a fantastic show. Debs will be played by Louisa Lytton, who played Ruby in EastEnders. Boogie Nights the 70s Musical in Concert will mark Louisas musical debut and she cant wait to belt out I Will Survive and Dont Go Breaking My Heart. Joining the stellar cast is The X Factor finalists Andy Abraham, who will play tough guy soul singer Spencer and perform Barry White classics such as Youre My First, My Last, My Everything. Chico, who was also a finalist on Dancing On Ice 2012, will play Terry, bringing his energetic dance moves to such hits as Le Freak. And the all-star line-up is completed by a theatrical first when Shane Richie Junior takes over the role of Roddy, as created by his father. It is the first time a role created by an actor has been inherited by his son and 22-year-old Shane Junior will prove to be a real chip off the old block as he powers through hits such as Blame It on the Boogie. With a cast of 15 musicians, singers and dancers, Boogie Nights the 70s Musical in Concert features favourites from the original show. They include YMCA, Happy Days, We Are Family and Boogie Wonderland and the show promises a party atmosphere you wont want to miss. To book tickets (from 29.50) call 01142 789789. The show starts 7.30pm.

FINDING NEMO 3D (U)

TEN years after it was first released, Pixars hugely entertaining comedy swims back into cinemas in the 3D format. Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks) is a neurotic clownfish who has never recovered emotionally from a barracuda attack, which claimed the lives of his wife and all but one of his unborn children. When his one surviving son, Nemo (Alexander Gould), is plucked from the Great Barrier Reef by a diver and rehoused in a fish tank in a dentists waiting room, Marlin

embarks on an epic adventure to bring the youngster home. The clownfish is aided by a friendly blue tang called Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), who suffers from short-term memory loss, travelling through shark-infested waters to be reunited with his boy. Meanwhile, Nemo hatches a daring escape from the crowded aquarium with the help of the other residents, including a Moorish Idol called Gill (Willem Dafoe), a hygiene-obsessed shrimp called Jacques (Joe Ranft) and a starfish called Peach (Allison Janney).
