2. SPECIAL PHOENIX BIOS SETUPS


2.1 COM2 – How to set up
Short sequential description:
1. After starting the PC, select START – SETTINS – CONTROL PANEL
2. Select Ports Icon

COM3:

3. Select COM3: and press the Delete button


4. Shut down the PC
5. Restart the PC, and select BIOS Setup during startup
6. Alter the BIOS setup according the parameters listed in 2.1.1, 2.1.2 and 2.1.3
7. Save BIOS Setup
8. After restarting the PC, select START – SETTINS – CONTROL PANEL
9. Select Ports Icon
10. Check that both the ports COM1: and COM2 are listed

2.1.1 Advanced
Select the Reset Configuration Data option.
By setting this item to “Yes”, the BIOS will be forced to perform again the resource
allocation for all PnP and PCI devices on next boot. This can be used to solve any resource
conflict in Windows. After reboot, this field comes automatically back to “No”
