Hello Medicaid Communications Network, I hope you are enjoying the final days of summer. Here are some updates and a request for your thoughts. Call for a Leadership Committee As we continue to build our communications plan, I am thinking about the most efficient way for our group to operate and make the best use of everyones valuable time and resources. To this end, I propose that we create a Leadership Committee to improve coordination and build capacity across the state. Examples of tasks the group might perform include generating our meeting agendas, advising on how we can best spend our time together, building and training regional groups, liaising between regional groups and our larger network, and brainstorming additional products or tools to create for the network. We will want this committee to have representation from all of our regions (North Idaho, South Central Idaho, Southwest Idaho, and East Idaho). To help get this Leadership Committee started, I am asking each one of you to respond to the following questions by Tuesday, September 3rd. 1. Are you willing to participate on this leadership committee? If so, what region would you be representing? 2. Who would you recommend be asked to join a. the Leadership Committee (contacts outside the Treasure Valley would be especially helpful)? b. the full working Medicaid group? With several important milestones approaching, such as Open Enrollment on October 1st and Veterans Day on November 11th, organizing this proposed committee will help us advance our work in a more focused manner. I hope I can receive your response on the above questions Tuesday, September 3rd. Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions on how we can make this Leadership Committee as effective as possible. New Resources One of our members, Dr. Perry Brown of FMRI, wrote a fantastic editorial that was published in the Idaho Statesman this weekend: http://bit.ly/19Tyw71. It is also posted here (if you dont have a Statesman subscription): http://idaho.icito.com/tag/medicaid/. It should be popping up in other papers soon. Thank you, Perry! I also posted the finalized video today. I'd love for you to view it on Facebook and 'Like' our page, if you havent already: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Medicaid-Option-Facts-for-Idaho/383793818387609. If you want to go straight to the video on YouTube, it's here: http://youtu.be/02S_A7ul_5M. I would appreciate any promotion of these new resources you can do (sharing with your personal and professional networks via email or social media, links from webpages, links in e-newsletters, etc.).
