Faculty offering the programme will provide the necessary input for effective communication and the student will be tested for his / her written communication skill in the form of a Technical paper prepared as per norms. The student is expected to make a presentation on an appropriate current technical topic before a department committee; the assignment involves framing a curriculum outline, teaching peer students and evaluation of their performance under the supervision of the department committee.
* for full time ME / MTech programmes. STRUCTURE OF PROGRAMMES (i) Curriculum: The curriculum for each programme includes courses of study and detailed syllabi. The courses of study include core theory courses, electives, Technical Communication, Practicals, Project work I, Project work II as given in clause 11.
Full time programme: Every full time candidate shall undergo the courses of his / her programme given in clause 11 in various semesters as shown below: Semester Semester Semester Semester 1: 2: 3: 4: 1 Mathematics, 5 Theory courses, Technical Communication and 1 Practical 6 Theory courses and 2 Practicals 3 Theory courses and Project work I Project work II
The full time candidate shall undergo a minimum of four core theory courses during the first semester and shall complete all the nine core theory courses during the semesters 1 and 2 Part time programme: Every part time candidate shall undergo the courses of his / her programme given in clause 11 in various semesters as shown below: Semester Semester Semester Semester Semester Semester 1: 2: 3: 4: 5: 6: 1 Mathematics, 2 Theory courses and 1 Practical 3 Theory courses and Technical Communication 3 Theory courses and 1 Practical 3 Theory courses and 1 Practical 3 Theory courses and Project work I Project work II
The part time candidate shall undergo a minimum of two core theory courses per semester during the semesters 1 to 3 and shall complete all the nine core theory courses during the semester 1 to 4.
