Course Objectives
The course is divided into two independent modules that together, will provide a complete overview of the natural gas industry, from basic knowledge through to complex pricing and contractual concepts. This unique combination gives participants the flexibility to enhance their individual understanding of the entire natural gas value chain by participating in both or individual modules taking them from the Fundamentals through to the more complex Business of Natural Gas/LNG facets of the industry. Participants will gain the necessary knowledge to understand important and emerging concepts, including reserve classifications, unconventional gas, cost of supply, oil price linkages, LNG S curve pricing, spot trade, floating production & regas, and gas-to-liquids. This knowledge will be presented in a practical manner to ensure its relevance to contemporary business requirements. Participants are welcome to participate in each module individually (1 day and 1 days), or to register for both modules (2 days in total). Course Director
Vivek Chandra is the Principal of Kerogen Consultants, a boutique energy advisory firm in Melbourne, Australia. His extensive 22+ years international gas experience includes four years as the senior commercial executive with an Australian energy company with large gas assets, development of gas projects in the Middle East, and diverse experience with ARCO International Oil & Gas Company in the United States and Schlumberger Overseas in SE Asia. He has worked on LNG as well as gas pipeline export projects.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, a Masters of Science in Petroleum Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and has also completed a graduate degree from the French Petroleum Institute in Petroleum Economics & Management and a Masters in Commercial Law from Deakin University. Vivek Chandra is the author of Fundamentals of Natural Gas, a bestselling hardcover book published by Pennwell, publishers of Oil and Gas Journal and other leading industry books and manuals. He is also creator of two Iphone/Ipad apps; GasUnits for conversion of natural gas units and LNGProjects, a LNG project database covering over 75 LNG projects.

Registration on the 1st day of each module commences at 8.00am. Sessions start promptly at 9.00am and end at 5.30pm or 1.00pm for the full days and half day respectively. Lunch will be served between 12.30pm to 2.00pm, with mid-morning & mid-afternoon breaks for the full days. No lunch will be served on the half day.
