SMM HARDWARE TESTS

1 OBJECTIVE OF THE SHEET

The aim of the tests given in this sheet is to test the hardware equipment of the two SMM logics A and B during operation, using LOCAVAR.

Note :

The tests are carried out on equipment which is in good condition. Repair methods are not covered in this sheet.

SMM HARDWARE TESTS

2 CONDITIONS - RESOURCES
- Carry out the check list according to the configuration of the xchange. - Allocate the PFID and PFIM output files to an operating console.

2.1 WAM Terminal

- The WAM terminal, operator consoles and magnetic tape drive are connected according to the instructions given in the installation file. - No assistance console is connected to the SMMV2.

2.2 Setting the Keys on the ACCSG Board

The keys are in idle position as indicated in the appendix.

2.3 Initial State of Processing Subsystems

Consult the state of the stations, as seen by the OM, using the ESMIN operator command associated with the AM=SMM parameter: The following messages are output if the station is backed up: SMMi = ES OCi = ES SMMj = ES OCj = ESRE This state enables the station to operate in DUPLEX and authorises the RTOS system to carry out a switchover. This is the normalstation operating mode.

Note :

Subsystem i is active, subsystem j is standby (i and j correspondto symbols A and B of the station processing subsystems).

The RTOS commands and macrocommands are launched from the WAM terminal in direct mode.

2.4 State of the Disks

- Check that the backed-up secondary memory (MSS) is not degraded using the command: ISTMSS; - Check that there are no "software SAI" alarms using the ALAIL command; - Using the ESYIN MML command check that the future OM initialisation option (OLAF field) is NORON; if this is not the case, change it using he ESYMO MML command with the OLAF=NORON parameter.

3 CONDUCT OF THE TEST 3.1 LOCAVAR on the Standby Station

a) Shut down the standby station using the WAM command: SETSCH : INDL SETSCH : BLOM b) Check that the standby station HS (out of service) alarm appears. !! *Axxxx/yyy /yy-mm-dd/hh H mn/N=zzzz/TYP=COM/CAT=ID/EVENT=DAL /NCEN=....../AM =SMMB/AGEO=S.-TR..-B..-A...-R... /TEXAL=STANDBY SMM OOS c) Run the standby station LOCAVAR using the WAM command: SETSCH : TEST *DIAGTYPE parameter in appendix Check the start of the locavar as indicated in the appendix d) Wait approximately 15 minutes. e) Using the procedure described in the appendix, check that the error code is null at the end of the LOCAVAR. f) Reactivate the standy subsystem in operational mode using the WAM command: SETSCH : ES Wait for the standby SMM to go ES and the END of the alarm !! *Axxxx/yyy /yy-mm-dd/hh H mn/N=zzzz/TYP=COM/CAT=ID/EVENT=FAL /NCEN=....../AM =SMMB/AGEO=S.-TR..-B..-A...-R... /TEXAL=STANDBY SMM OOS g) Switch over the standby and active logics: Run the CTIBSC command on an operator console CTIBSC; h) Test the other logic: Repeat operations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

3.2 LOCAVAR on External Equipment

- Run the LOCAVAR on a few items of external equipment. - After each ES state change, check that there are no alarms for the equipment involved.

3.2.1 ACRAL2 Board

- Use the WAM command (example):

SETEQP : CTLP13L , BLOM SETEQP : CTLP13L , TEST

- At the end of the test, set the equipment to the operational state using the command:

SETEQP : CTLP13L , ES

SMM HARDWARE TESTS

The alarm lines (CVA) automatically go ES after a few minutes. See the values in the appendix for the other CTLP physical controllers, the CTLL logical controllers and the LIGP physical lines. 3.2.2 ACTUJ Board
- Use the WAM command (example):

SETEQP : CTLP13I , BLOM SETEQP : CTLP13I , TEST At the end of the test, use the SETEQP command on the WAM to make sure that the equipment is now ES. SETEQP : CTLP13I , ES See the values in the appendix for the other CTLP physical controllers, the CTLL logical controllers and the LIGP physical lines. 3.2.3 Magnetic Tape (optional test)
- Use the WAM command:

SETEQP : BND 7072 , BLOM SETEQP : BND 7072 , TEST

- When the test is complete, use the SETEQP command on the WAM to make sure that the equipment is now ES.

SETEQP : BND 7072 , ES

- Other examples are possible depending on the configuration (see appendix)

3.2.4 ACJ64 or ACV11 Board

- Use the WAM command:

SETEQP : CTLP13F , BLOM SETEQP : CTLP13F , TEST

- When the test is complete, use the SETEQP command on the WAM to make sure that the equipment is now ES.

SETEQP : CTLP13F , ES See the values in the appendix for the other CTLP physical controllers, CTLL logical controllers and LIGP physical lines. 3.2.5 Magnetic Tape Controller (optional test)
- Use the WAM command:

SETEQP : CB 200 , BLOM SETEQP : CB 200 , TEST

- When the test is complete, set the equipment to the operational state using the command:

SETEQP : CB 200 , ES 3.2.6 Streamer

- Use the WAM command:

SMM HARDWARE TESTS

SETEQP : SMR COCO , BLOM SETEQP : SMR COCO , TEST

- When the test is complete, set the equipment to ES state using the SETEQP command on the WAM terminal.

SETEQP : SMR COCO , ES

- Other examples are possible depending on the configuration (see appendix).

3.2.7 Streamer Controller

- Use the WAM command:

SETEQP : CSMR13D , BLOM SETEQP : CSMR13D , TEST When the test is complete, use the SETEQP command on the WAM to make sure that the equipment is now ES. SETEQP : CSMR13D , ES 3.2.8 A0A0 Disk Controller
- Perform CTIAR - Set the A0A0 disk controller BLOM using the command:

SETEQP : CD 12H , BLOM

- Run the locavar using the command:

SETEQP : CD 12H , TEST

- At the end of the test reset the disk controller ES using:

SETEQP : CD 12H , ES
- Perform CTILA;

At this point there is double switching on the SMM

- Rebuild the disks using the command:

RECDP; Parameters SRCDKNAM "DK A0B0" DESDKNAM "DK A0A0" DESDPLAB "SYST00" WOWNAMAM "Volume name"

Note :

Wait until the temporary MSS degradation disappears then check the correct MSS state using the ISTMSS command.
