CORIOLIS FLOW METER: Application: Coriolis Meter shall be used as the flow-measuring element and / or density-measuring element wherever dictated by the process requirements. In general Coriolis Meters shall be used for measurement of flow and / or density with process pressure < 40 kg/cm2. General: The Coriolis Meter shall be selected such that the nominal bore size of the sensor is equal to or less than the line size. The Coriolis Meter shall have flanged end connections, rated for the associated piping class. The Coriolis Meter shall be provided with a local LCD display (integral or separately mounted near the flow meter or as a part of the locally mounted transmitter). In case the display is not integral, all mounting accessories required for the display shall be provided by the Contractor. The Contractor shall also provide interconnecting cable (between the sensor and the local display unit) and the cable glands suitable for the specified area classification. These interconnecting cables shall be kept as short as practicable. Any special cable and / or hardware that are required to make the system complete shall be supplied by the Contractor. All weldings and castings (if any) shall be 100% radiographed. Material: The material requirements for Coriolis Meter shall in general be according to clause 3.6.4.5 of Instrumentation Design Criteria. The Contractor shall ensure that the sensor and all other wetted parts are compatible with the process fluid conditions. The sensor (metal tubing) shall be made of SS 316L as a minimum, unless the process conditions dictate the use of higher corrosion resistant materials.
