Self Directed Development


Teacher Portfolio Allows teachers the opportunity to reflect and gather data to support their professional goals, assess teaching strengths, and identify areas which may need improvement. Video Reflection Allows teachers the opportunity to video their lessons to refine instructional practices over time in an identified area. Action Research Helps teachers answer questions about the effectiveness of specific instructional strategies, the performance of specific students, and classroom management techniques.

Peer Collaboration
Professional Study Group Provides colleagues the chance to identify an area of focus to be critically analyzed through professional conversations Peer Coaching Allows teachers opportunities to consult with one another, to discuss and share teaching practices, to observe one another's classrooms and routines, and to promote collegiality and support. New Teacher Mentoring Provides the opportunity for experienced teachers to mentor new professionals and grow as professionals themselves through reflection on the mentoring process. Purpose of the Walk-Through To stimulate collegial conversation about learning and teaching. To promote the use and sharing of best instructional practices. To provide ongoing feedback that fosters continuous growth. To provide higher visibility of administrators with students and teachers. To help administrators have a better understanding of instructional practices being used throughout the school.
