ADMINISTRATION Oversees finance and budget issues and coordinates the work and goals of all other administrative groups.

ADULT FORMATION

Audit Committee: An audit of financial operations is done annually. CPAs of the parish are asked to contribute their time to be part of this audit committee and to be responsible for one audit area. Contact Laurie Atwell, 435-2747. Adopt-a-Plot: An individual, family or group agrees to adopt a designated area on the grounds to maintain and care for that particular plot. Collection Counters: Assigned members meet to count the weekend collection after the 11:30 a.m. liturgy each Sunday. Contact Martha Stuber. Facilities Management and Planning: Oversee the physical plant and equipment, assist in minor repairs and improvements. Contact Dick Kline, 339-7740. Garden and Grounds Care: Volunteers willing to rake, plant, weed, and otherwise care for our beautiful setting. Several workdays are held throughout the year. Contact Bob Overberg, 244- 8385. General Office Help: Supplemental office work is frequently needed, particularly answering the phones, inputting data, collating materials or working for one particular ministry area. Technology Committee: This group manages all things technical, ranging from Windows desktop support for Epiphany staff members to wifi and LAN networking planning and support, from administration of Epiphanys Google Apps account to management of Epiphanys electronic mailing lists. Web Committee: Create and maintain web pages (the current web site is powered by the Drupal Content Management System), utilizing multiple electronic resources, such as: Epiphanys Picasa web albums, Slideshare presentations and YouTube videos. COMMUNITY OF EPIPHANY CHILD FORMATION


Bibletimes Marketplace: Tent Mothers or Fathers, teenage aides, craft workers, food preparers, nursery workers, drama participants, and general helpers needed before and during Bibletimes. Classroom Aid: Extra hands needed for craft or special day activities Gather the Children: Training and materials are provided for loving and faith-filled adults who serve on catechist teams to present the Liturgy of the Word to children. Takes place during 9:00AM Mass most Sundays. Special Needs: Assist and support special needs children. Classroom Musician: Voice and/or instrument talent supports various age groups. STEWARDSHIP
Committee: Members meet monthly to plan and execute programs that raises the awareness that God has blessed all of us with gifts to be shared. Members plan and execute events for the annual Stewardship Weekend. Parishioner Contact: Call parishioners who have not submitted their packets to encourage their participation. Photographers: Provide pictures of Epiphany events and programs to be included in the annual report and the online web site. Annual Weekend Volunteer: Assist in passing out Stewardship Packets, and provide support for the weekend events. Packet Stuffers: Assist in building the parishioner packets, stuffing envelopes and collating the envelopes. Community Spirit continued: Taste of Epiphany: Organize a food tasting event representative of the diverse countries of our parishioners, setup and cleanup. NET (Network of Employment Transition): Those currently unemployed or under-employed meet with facilitators (group or individual) to acquire the necessary skills to be gainfully employed. Retreat Planners: Individuals plan two retreats per year, one in August and one on Palm Sunday weekend, for candidates and catechumens who are journeying to initiation in the Catholic faith. Contact Sister Mary Gowern, 245-9733, ext. 20. Sponsors: Catholics accompany the catechumen/candidate throughout the RCIA journey. They meet regularly with the catechumen/candidate during the week to pray and share faith. Sponsors introduce the catechumen/candidate to others in the community. Facilitators: Break Open the Word at one of the weekly RCIA sessions, using scripture as a source for prayer. Contact Sister Mary Gowern. Dismissal Facilitators: Leads the discussion of the Sunday Gospel and Homily. Needs an ability to reflect prayerfully on the readings and invite sharing from others. Spiritual Companions: Catholics companion the catechumens and candidates throughout RCIA. Need an ability to listen compassionately, share personal faith and remain open to the Holy Spirits lead. Weekly time commitment. Hospitality: Hosts provide refreshments for the catechumenate for weekly sessions, and occasional potlucks and receptions.

YOUTH FORMATION The Epiphany Youth Ministry program strives to accompany young people through a process of life formation. Rooted in the values and vision of the Gospel, with the support of community and through the deepening of relationships, EYM seeks to challenge and nurture the development of Catholic youth.

RCIA RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS A year long process that leads up to full initiation in the Catholic Church. Leaders are needed to plan and/or participate in the process.

Confirmation Preparation (Grade 9): Meets twice a month on Wednesday evenings for 6:30- 8:00PM. Catechists are needed to facilitate Confirmation classes, chaperone the spring Confirmation retreat, and provide transportation for service opportunities. Junior High Youth Group (Grades 7-8): Meets on Sundays from 4:30-6:00PM during the school year. The JHYG focuses on spiritual, service, and social formation through discussions and catechesis on faith, relationship building, prayer, retreats, music, fun, and games. Senior High Youth Group (Grades 9-12): Meets on Sundays from 6:30-8:00PM during the school year. The SHYG focuses on spiritual, service, and social formation

Catechists: Present or facilitate during the catechumenate. Must have a Vatican II theological background, some understanding of how adults learn, and of the catechumenal process.

COMMUNITY OF EPIPHANY
Youth Formation continued... through discussions and catechesis on faith, relationship building, prayer, mission trips, retreats, music, fun, and games. The Youth Council works with the Youth Minister to prepare and implement the meetings. CONTACT INFORMATION

Catholic Charities: Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Louisville serves the community in multiple ways through its many service centers. There are many ways for Epiphany members to volunteer. Emergency Assistance: Epiphany has always been committed to helping with the emergency needs of food and utilities and has a daily ministry of assisting the Area Community Ministries (ACMs) organizations in Jefferson County. The Social Responsibility Ministry Office currently coordinates this work. EACM - Eastern Area Community Ministries is the local ACM that Epiphany supports financially and where a number of Epiphany members volunteer. St. Vincent de Paul Society - Epiphany is exploring starting a St. Vincent de Paul Conference here at the parish to assume the emergency assistance ministry, and be a part of this vibrant ministry that has been serving the poor in Louisville since 1953. We are looking for parishioners who would be interested in helping in this effort. Currently, the Men of Epiphany organize an annual collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Truck in the spring. Environmental Concerns: Responds to the environmental crises that threaten the planet. It is multi-focused with special emphasis on lifestyle choices, community education and political action. The group meets monthly, guiding the community in all things environmental in care for Gods creation. Giving Tree Setup: Each year a volunteer coordinator(s) is needed to work with various departments or committees in the parish to help organize our annual Christmas tree giving to those in need. It takes good organization and communication over a short period of time for an important Epiphany ministry. Habitat for Humanity: Epiphany collaborates with other area parishes to build one house bi-annually, and a team of volunteers works year-around construction at other sites. Honduras Mission: Annual mission work with the Divine Mercy community in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Hunger and Poverty: Leads us in various creative responses to hunger in the metro community, supporting our action on behalf of Bread for the World with the annual Hunger Walk, and Dare to Cares Backpack Buddies and Kids Caf. Coordinates collection of food and sponsors the Plant A Row ministry. Dare to Care Back Packs Help pack lunch bags for low income kids at local schools at Dare to Cares warehouse once a month. Kids Caf Assist in Dare to Cares Berrytown Kids Caf, which serves hot meals three days a week to children in Berrytown in the fall and winter. Latino Concerns: Supports the Latino Outreach program at Eastern Area Community Ministries, and raises our awareness of the challenges of immigration and the pastoral needs of the growing Latino membership in the parish.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Steering Committee (SRSC): One of the standing committees of the Parish Pastoral Council, we work in collaboration with the Minister for Social Responsibility to empower parishioner response to the Gospel call of compassion, justice and peacemaking articulated in the tradition of Catholic social teaching and witness of faithful people. The committee also carries out special projects that span the entire scope of the ministry, such as retreats and the Jim Flynn Peacemaking Award. Aids Walk: Epiphany participates in Louisvilles AIDS Walk, Kentucky's largest annual HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event. Advocates for the Common Good: A social action group at Epiphany. This includes legislative action, political participation, education and action on current issues nationally, regionally and locally. It incorporates the Faithful Citizenship program and Seamless Garment life issues. It collaborates with other peace and justice organizations such as Kentuckians For The Commonwealth. Faithful Citizenship The Archdiocesan program of political participation guided by the Catholic Conference of Kentucky and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Seamless Garment of Life Promotes the protection and inherent dignity of all human beings consistently throughout the entire life cycle. Appalachia Mission: An annual mission to work in Appalachia, through Hand in Hand Ministries: Primarily home rehab. Youth go in the summer; adults generally go in Spring or Fall. Backside Ministry: Supports and participates in the ecumenical ministry to Churchill Downs track workers and their families. Epiphany organizes the religious education of the children and helps raise funds for the ministry, among other things. CLOUT/Justice Network: Epiphany is a congregational member of Citizens of Louisville Organized and United Together along with other metro congregations to bring about needed changes in our community, especially as they affect the poor.

PeaceWorks: Education and action to promote peace and nonviolence in addressing issues of conflict in our nation and world. Raises awareness of the reality of war and the quest for peace, with particular focus on U.S. foreign policy viewed through the lens of Catholic social teaching. Prison Ministry: Catholic ministry to incarcerated persons at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex, special art therapy project for children of jail inmates. Ten Percent: Discerns the disbursement of our tithe of monthly income to various agencies and programs. Meets monthly and reviews and evaluated applications for funding. Undoing Racism: Addresses the reality of racism and discrimination within and beyond our community Womens Concerns: Enables our community to address the reality of gender inequities. Also celebrates women and organizes the annual Mary of Magdala worship service at Epiphany. Newborn Ministry: Provides support and meals to families with a newborn child. Community Care Committee: Dedicated to the care of the members of our faith community. Bereavement: Offers comfort and support to those who mourn. Opportunities include serving on a Bereavement Team (to bring a dish, setup, serve or cleanup after a funeral) and planning the Memorial Liturgy & Reception (which includes planning liturgy, sending invitations, decorating, preparing food and/or serving the meal) and delivery of flowers twice a year to those recently bereaved. Opportunities include offering support by visiting with Eucharist; providing meals and transportation when needed; Christmas Caroling. There are many opportunities available in addition to sewing such as cutting fabric, assembling the blankets, cutting prayer cards, and more. The ministry meets twice a month but the blankets can be sewn at home. Indigent Burial palls are also made and provided to the Office of the County Coroner. Opportunities include the Wellness Fair (which includes obtaining vendors, setup, cleanup and working the day of the event) and other educational events held throughout the year. WORSHIP

Committee: Leaders of ministries and members of the support teams collaborate in coordinating our Worship at Epiphany. If interested in participation in particular ministries, please sign up below (for individual ministries). If interested in overall coordination of Epiphanys Worship, please sign up for our Worship or Music Ministry Support Teams. Acolyte Ministry: Prepare the worship setting and assist presider during liturgies. Assignment is for one liturgy six to ten times a year. Contact Jim Parr 426-38909. Art & Environment: Design, create, and arrange art and floral pieces to enhance our liturgical celebrations. Volunteer to help for a particular season (e.g., Advent, Easter, etc.) or for special projects or tasks. Worship Continued... Bell Choir: Augment liturgical music periodically. Rehearse weekly on Friday afternoons. Music reading or the willingness to learn to read music is required. Contact Linda Thieneman. Bread Baking Ministry: Volunteers bake bread from a standard recipe 1-5 times a year. Contact Celeste Fowler 426-0309. Childrens Music: Periodically children are invited to participate in singing, playing bells, or instruments for our weekend liturgies, particularly for the Christmas Eve Family/Childrens Mass. Cup and Plate Coordinator: Individuals enlist the Eucharistic ministers needed for a large community liturgy, and helping with various details during the Mass, approximately once a month. Drama/Mime: Volunteers provide a mime or dramatic interpretation of Scriptures or reflection for special community liturgies (e.g. during Holy Week). Contact Linda Thieneman. Epiphany Youth Band: Youth who play wind, stringed, or percussion instruments can join our group, which alternates playing for various weekend liturgies. Contact Linda Thieneman. Hospitality: Greet and welcome the communities before liturgies, assist with seating, coordinate the collection, and distribute worship aids. Lector Ministry: Proclaim the Scriptures and other prayers and announcements during liturgies. Evaluation and training are required prior to assignment to this ministry. Liturgical Dance: Provides interpretive dance for various liturgies throughout the year. Rehearsals are required. Contact Therese Graves, 251-1326. Liturgy Planning: Community members gather in prayer and reflection to prepare our parish liturgies. Experienced planners are available to help those new to the process. Music Ministry: Those with vocal or instrumental skills support Epiphanys prayer, programs and events (e.g. formation classes, Gather the Children, Taiz Prayer, weekend liturgies). Ensemble musicians participate in an audition process. Monthly general rehearsals, as well as ensemble rehearsals are required. Contact Linda Thieneman. Music Ministry Support Team: Individuals with a variety of administrative skills support our music ministry (e.g. maintaining music files, making contacts, preparing sheet music for liturgies, reporting copyright usage). Prayer Ministries: Help support our regularly meeting prayer groups (Rosary Prayer, Centering Prayer, Taize, etc.) by assisting with simple administrative tasks (such as opening and closing the gathering spaces, set-up, making contacts when there are necessary changes, etc.). Space Arrangers/Angels: Weekly volunteers keep the Worship Center inviting by arranging and keeping the space in order, straightening the chairs and light cleaning as needed on Saturday mornings, or take on a task to do at ones convenience. Wedding Assistants: Volunteers help engaged couples to plan and execute logistical wedding details and serve as a liaison with the pastor and staff for their wedding rehearsal and ceremony.
