5 Context and purpose: Leading UK Mobile Network Operator with ambitious growth plans is looking for a Design Technical Lead for their LTE RAN. Operating cross-functionally and at a s enior level, with multiple Managed Service partners, you will be accountable for ensuring the best in class Design for our Ultrafast Network. Your main role encompasses leading the Design activities of the "future" network translating high level strategy into high quality designs required for the tran sition to network operations through high quality testing and procedures. Whilst you'll act as a primary point of accountability, you will work with functional stakeholders to ensure that the right responsibility levels are established. Already operating as at senior level, able to draw upon your track record of suc cess, your approach will be aligned to the commercial goals of the business. Scope: Reporting to the RAN LTE Design & Test Manager, you will provide leadership and the technical expertise for a team of Design Specialist. Accountablefor the RAN LTE Design Management Lifecycle essential to support current and futuretechnical requirements of the business. Working closely with RAN SD, Capacity, Optimisation, Test and Field Trials teams you will drive the technical steering with key suppliers to influence feature a nd product roadmaps to support business strategy. You will champion the design by delivering, scalable and cost effective high qua lity design solutions within agreed timescales in support of business initiative s to improve customer experience and network perception. Design authority, respo nsible for planning, resource management, processes and procedures in your domai n to support service and products used the 3UK customers. Responsibilities: Architectural Governance - Provide architectural guidance and produce designs of high quality by applying best design practices; ensuring solutions are simple, cost effective and scalable whilst proactively mitigating potential risks. Design Authority - Author end-to-end design documents & high and low level proce ss flows, vendor assessment & selection, roadmap definitions and reviewing & app roving design documents in the capacity of a design authority. Cross Functional Engagement - Lead effective solutions across- various functiona l delivery teams, Managed Service Partner and 3rd party vendors to ensure e2e so lutions are delivered on time across design, test and FOA and meet operational a cceptance criteria. Operational Assurance - Provide ongoing support to cross-functional operational teams to ensure capacity and in-life performance of solutions is optimised and m eet operational KPIs. Technology Strategy - Keep abreast of new technical developments; generate new a

nd innovative ideas and concepts to support business roadmap and strategy. Being the Technical Subject Matter Expert, responsible for setting standards across S ervice Transition team accountable for the compliance with regulatory, industry and business policies. Effective Solution Delivery - Delivery of best-in-class design solutions, to bud get and on time. Vendor Management - Be a key escalation point for defects and operations issues. Develop effective and mutually-beneficial relationships with our Radio Network Vendors. Knowledge and experience: Must Have: Strong RAN Design experience in a Senior or Principal role. Experience of solving and end-to-end design challenges that have significant int eraction between multiple systems and domains. Demonstrable experience and/or expert knowledge in the following: 3G & 4G architecture 3G and 4G RRM, Transport and Interface Design 3GPP standards, RAN Signalling protocols, VoLTE and CSFB IP Networks, IP routing and IP Security Principles, QoS Experience of technical Vendor Management Experience of programme and project management principles Proven track record of leading, coaching and developing high performing team. Good to Have: Qualified in a Engineering or Telecommunications discipline, preferably to degre e level Experience of LTE systems, testing, design or deployment. Experience with NSN 3G RAN. Business Skills / Personality Experience of working cross-functionally across a diverse range of business func tions. Articulate and good at explaining technical detail in simple non-technical terms to stakeholders. Effective and persuasive communicator with confidence to communicate at all leve ls. Experience of proactively managing risk and engaging at the appropriate level to resolve complex issues and bottlenecks whilst owning the solution. Manage own time effectively and prioritise several activities simultaneously to deliver to agreed timescales. Self motivated, delivery focused individual who takes responsibility and is will ing to go into the detailswhen needed. Ability tosee the bigger picture and distinguish the important and urgent. Understand key business drivers, including marketing and financial objectives. An individual who can influence others because people trust, respect them and fi nd them approachable.
