1. Commissioning: 1. Check the arability of steam at required pressure in the steam header. 2. Open main steam valve of the steam header then drain out all the condensate from the header. 3. Open the sealing ater main hand valve after the sealing ater tank and also the hand valve placed in front of the single !.!. pumps. . Check the availability of the instrument air hich is at a minimum pressure of " kg#!q. cm $g%. !. Close all openings through hich air can penetrate into the plant. 2. Vac""m Prod"ction: 1. !tart all pumps one after the another but al ays ait so long until liquid appears in the separator I. then start the corresponding supply pump. 2. &he plant is operated ith ater. 'nsure the continuous availability of the ater in balance tank. &he flo rate be controlled through the flo regulating valve provided at the discharge line of the feed pump. 3. !tart the cooling ater pump and open slo ly appro(. half od the cooling ater valve. . Once ater is circulated through plant) open seal ater to vacuum pump and s itch on vacuum pump. 3. Start "p of t#e p$ant %it# steam: 1. If the vacuum has reached appr. 600mm open slo ly the steam valve at the thermo*compressor to the half of the set point. 2. !tart the condensate pump. 3. &he set point at the steam pressure controller has to be ad+usted to desired steam pressure. &he pneumatic has to be slo ly open by turning the hand remote ad+uster of the steam pressure controller and after this to ad+ust an automatic. . ,hen the vacuum has reached 6-0 mm ad+ust the pressure at the thermo compressor to the nominal pressure or to that pressure hich has given the correct density last time. !. .d+ust the flo quantity to nominal quantity. &. .d+ust the nominal value at the temperature controller to the desired value. !lo ly open the steam valve of the temperature controller. '. In case of /!I unit for sterili0ation) open the steam valve at the inlet of stem line to sterili0er and set the desired valve of temperature through controller.

!. C#anging Over to Prod"ct ( Evaporation Process: 1. .s soon the plant is orking steadly ith ater and the separators have a minimum level) the product valve has to be opened. 2. ,hen the product is appearing in the separator of the final stage or it is appeared in the final discharge line. &he outlet quantity has to be conveyed back into the balance tank. 3. ,hen the concentration has reached desired concentrate) the concentrate has to be filled in to the concentrate tank by changing over the valve provided in the discharge end. . /uring the ne(t half hour) the orking condition has to be controlled regularly and have to be read+usted to obtain the nominal conditions. .s soon as they are achieved) the controllers have to be put on automatic. &. Stopping of P$ant: 1. !top the instrument air supply. 2. the main stem valve has to be closed. 3. the flo quantity has to be reduced to appear 1#1 of the quantity during ma(imum operation. . ,ait until the plant has cool do n) then the supply pumps have to be s itched off. .s soon as all separators are empty) all pumps have to be s itched off one after the other. &he cooling ater pumps have to be stopped. !. &o start the plant again) all controllers have to be s itched on hand. &. .ir cocks have to be opened. Preca"tions: 1. In case of failure of electricity) the steam supply is shut do n. &he solenoid valve closes the air supply in the pneumatic control valve) so that this valve closes. If the failure of electricity has ended) one must pump out all the product of the plant) the evaporator must be cleaned and started up again. 2. In case of steam failure) close the product supply. ,hen the steam is available again) the evaporator must be emptied 2 Cleaned and after this started again. 3. If the cooling ater supply is broken do n) the total plant must be shutdo n immediately.
