The message conveyed behind the effort of these two prolific statesmen is curren tly lacking by the present

Muslim leaders. The handling of Muzzafarabad stands t estimonial of Muslim leaders governance. Islam never stood against progress as popular beliefs thanks to Taliban whereas Islam promulgated to search knowledge even if we have to go faraway land like 'C hina'. Unfortunately, illiteracy, ignorance and poverty are operating in Muslim households as Siamese twins. A community of 160 million cannot be living in isolation when the rest of nation is taking progress. Time for a retrospection on the Muslim community and try to translate 'Deen aur Duniya' (religion and world) in parallel lines. The beauty of Indian fabric is its pluralism and every community has done their share to ma ke it rich and resilient. Here the writer poignantly shared the contribution of those Muslims leaders forgotten with the pace of time and distortion of history. The write up is not about defending but about engaging everyone irrespective of the various impediments that puts forward. I wish the leaders of today take a cu e from their predecessors and fight for a noble cause - to enrich the nation fro m the clutches of corruption. We need leaders like Lal Bahadur Shatri who resign ed as railway minister when there was an accident taking moral responsibility. Once again my profound gratitude for the writer for bringing into light those le aders who remain unsung. from: yasmin banu Posted on: Nov 7, 2013 at 23:56 IST A good account of Indian "mass tendency", to follow anything blindly if it creat es chain reactions/commotions.
