Hymn of Praise
TESTIMONY
As I look back over my life, And I think things over, I can truly say That Ive been blessed, I have a testimony.

Unison Scriptures
Romans 1:16-17 (CEV)
I am proud of the good news! It is Gods powerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. 17The good news tells how God accepts everyone who has faith, but only those who have faith. It is just as the Scriptures say, The people God accepts because of their faith will live.
16

Romans 16:22 (CEV)

I, Tertius, also send my greetings. I am a follower of the Lord, and I wrote this letter.

HYMN OF PRAISE/UNISON SCRIPTURES

Veterans Day Litany

Minister: For the men and women who serve in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: For the family members who have made great sacrifices in order to make it possible for their service members to be on watch at home or around the world or to go into harms way, People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: For the families who grieve the death of a member who went in harms way, never to return, People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: Jesus tells us that no one has greater love than to lay down ones life for ones friends. For all those veterans who have been willing to lay down their lives. People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: For the veterans of past wars who bear scars in their bodies and spirits, People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: For veterans who came home but couldnt fit in with their families or communities anymore, People: We ask Your blessing. Minister: Keep all our veterans in Your care today. Grant them the peace they sought to preserve for others. As we honor our veterans, we also pray for peace. Teach all Your people the ways of peace that those who have sacrificed so much for peace and freedom will not have done so in vain. We pray all these things in the name of Your Son, our savior, Jesus Christ. People: Amen.

SERMON NOTES/PRAYER CONCERNS

Raise The Roof

Then I said to them, You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace. . . . They replied, Let us start rebuilding. So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:17-18 NIV

Village, What an awesome God we serve! I greet you with joy, peace and love, as we begin this season of anticipation, this season of Advent, and Trinity UCCs season of Anniversary Celebration. We should all be excited by the progress we are making toward our $5 million Raise the Roof campaign goal: We now have pledges totally over $2,389,000 and will very soon have surpassed 50% of our goal, from a total of 536 members/families. We are indeed a church that is on a mission to live our theology of environmental stewardship, in a very practical and real way! Raise the Roof/Anniversary Sunday On Sunday, December 1st, as we are blessed with preaching from our Pastor Emeritus, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., Rev. Dr. Frank Thomas, and Rev. Dr. Ozzie Smith, Jr., we will also celebrate a special Raise the Roof Campaign Sunday. Since the Raise the Roof Campaigns inception, we have all been asked to Opt-In to the campaign, and to pray about our actual Raise the Roof Campaign Pledge. It is also important to repeat that all pledges are important as we are asked for equal sacrifice, not equal pledges. On Anniversary Sunday, please bring your completed pledge card to church (they are available at the Raise the Roof tables in the Narthex, and from our Ushers. Also, everyone is encouraged to bring their 2013 Raise the Roof Campaign gifts on this Anniversary Sunday. Your RTR Campaign gifts are payable for up to 5 years, but the sooner the gifts are received, the sooner major renovation projects can be started and completed. Thank you and God bless you,

Rev. Mark A. Smith Minister of Stewardship

In collaboration with Trinity United Church of Christ and the Immabasi Health and Wellness and Church-in-Society Ministries What if you could prevent even one family from hearing the words you have cancer?
We all want to know we have made a difference in the life of another. This year you can fight back against cancer by enrolling in the American Cancer Societys new research study, Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). By joining CPS-3, you can help researchers better understand how lifestyle, genetics, and the environment affect cancer, and how we can better prevent the disease. To learn more about how you can help the ACS in cancer prevention, we have scheduled town hall meetings to provide information regarding this study and to answer any questions you may have regarding participation.
