This company sells to automotive foundries, silicones producers and high purity silicon manufacturers globally. The company has grown in sales by over 1000% during this time by developing great relationships with key suppliers to reduce costs and provide the lowest prices for our customers. Multi-Functional Leadership- During my 15 years as a Global Procurement and Product Line Director with Dow Corning Corp., I established teams with stakeholders from each of our key company functions. This brought a service and customer focus to our team and resulted in over $100 million of proven cost reductions for the procurement function. Strategy Development and Implementation Working with our global teams, we developed strategic goals for each procurement area and implemented the strategies including development of low cost suppliers, joint ventures and acquisitions and supplier quality teams. These strategies were a key component of achieving our cost reductions goals over the longer term. He has progressed through procurement, marketing, sales, engineering and operations management ranks in his career .Currently, he is the President/CEO/Managing Director for four multi function (trading, engineering, export import) companies in the silicon metal, solar silicon and poly-silicon businesses. He has both large company (Dow Corning, General Motors) and entrepreneurial experience. Jim has achieved many diverse accomplishments during his 40 year career including biing the President of Dow Corning Silicon Energy Systems Inc. and leading the global raw materials procurement team at Dow Corning for 10 years. In his role as silicon research director he helped Dow Corning and Hemlock Semiconductor develop new technologies including the production of metallurgical solar grade silicon at their Brazil silicon operation. He has over 15 U.S patents to his credit. He led Dow Cornings silicon business growth from $50 million to $300 million, including several acquisitions and joint ventures in the U.S., China, Brazil and Canada.

His educational credentials the include completing the program for Senior Executives in MITs (Sloan Business School), an MS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the General Motors Institute. He has been noted for his ability to correctly evaluate developing companies and to react quickly and effectively to crises and short-lived opportunities for profit. President and CEO Midland Silicon Company LLC (MSC)


2002- Present Chairman and CEO May Global Business Group Inc. (MGB) 2002 present Managing Director Silicon Solutions Joint Venture LLC 2006 - Present After retiring early from Dow Corning in 2002, Mr. May opened MSC and MGB to begin global procurement and trading activities for silicon metal solar grade silicon products, such as metallurgical grade silicon . He sold this company in 2012 and has been assisting the new owners in operations and consulting. His obligations to the new owners will end on October 31, 2013

President
Dow Corning Silicon Energy Systems Inc. 1989 to 2002 Dow Corning is a $6 billion specialty chemical manufacturer.
Mr. May was promoted to this position with P&L responsibility for silicon metal business. Under his direction were product line, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and R&D functions. He was also Chairman of Dalian Dow Corning Silicon Ltd and a Board Member of CBCC Silicon, Brazil. In this position, Mr. May made major contributions to Dow Cornings growth from $50 million to more than $300 million in sales including the acquisition of CBCC Ltd in Brazil, a leading producer of silicon metal and metallurgical solar grade silicon. In one example, a key U.S. supplier of Dow Corning was facing bankruptcy and needed help to restructure their debt or their plant would close. This source of supply was critical to Dow Corning because of the anti-dumping duties on Russia, China and Brazil suppliers causing supply shortages and major price increases in the market.

Mr. May was promoted to manage global procurement of silicon metal. He also had responsibility for the R&D team, and for leading the procurement team and strategy teams for silicon business.

Dow Corning Corporation 1990 to 1994
Mr. May was promoted to lead R&D and plant management teams for silicon products at Dow Corning and Hemlock Semiconductor Corporation. Concurrently, he was the President and CEO of Dow Corning Silicon Energy Systems Inc.

Silicon Research and Development Manager


Dow Corning Corporation 1985 to 1990
In this position, Mr. May managed R&D for silicon metal. He developed government research grants and pilot plants for new technologies.

Plant Manager
Foote Mineral Company 1980 to 1984 Foote Mineral Company, a division of Newmont Mining is a $300 million ferroalloys manufacturer.
In this position, Mr. May managed a silicon alloys production facility with annual production of 20,000 tons and revenues of $20 million. Earlier, Mr. May progressed through a series of promotions with General Motors, gaining experience in production management, engineering and R&D.
