"I learned from Le Corbusier to observe and react to climate, to tradition, to function, to structure, to economy, and to the landscape. To an extent, I also understand how to build buildings and create spaces and forms. However, I have in the last two decades, gradually discovered that the buildings that I have designed seems somewhat foreign; they do not appear to have their roots in the soil. With the experience of my work over the years and my own observation, I am trying to understand a little about my people, their traditions, and social customs, and their philosophy of life."

Balkrishna doshis IIM Banglore, which has been described as a critique of Kahns Ahmedabad Institute, deviates from some basic principles and fulfills Others unrealized in the earlier project in significant ways. -the main grouping of the campus, which contains adam block,classroom, labs, and library is arranged as a datum in a ladder like plan along a longitudinal axis. -in the main campus plan the outdoor rooms are not clearly defined as they are in Ahmedabad. -What is most striking, however ,are the corridors,more appropriately described as covered pedestrian streets,that join the diverse elements together.
-These were designed according to Doshi, -To provide innumerable vistas or focal points for generating a dialogue with oneself. -These corridors are sometimes open, sometimes with pergolas and sometimes topped With a glazed sunlight. -In many places the width of the corridors were increased to allow for casual eating and interaction to take place.

The main street , at the centre of the plan , zig zags from top to bottom break the asymmetrical, Irregular grid. zoned housing is arranged in cluster around the main service cores.

To create a township where a sense of continuity and fundamental values of security existing in a good living environment. To achieve a community character by establishing harmony between the built environment and the people. To create a balance community of various socio economic groups. To evolve a framework through design where incremental physical development can take place within legal, economic and organizational guidelines .

*Its a mixed work by architect BV Doshi and indian artist MF Husain. *Its a art gallery for exhibition of artists work. *Doshi took stupa as a concept. *The difference between stupa and the Gufa is the 25-millimetre thin ferrocement shell that has been used as the structure of Doshis museum ,as well as the sloping Columns that has been used internally.
