MEMO To: Mr.

Hussain Alsadq (Cahir of Knowledge House Charity) From: Fatimah Altuhaifa Date: October 15, 2013 RE: Opining a CS club in the Charity building I request a permission to use some available rooms for making some computer courses for children aged 11- 16. A lot of people do not know what a computer science is and how technology can help in school, university, or work environments. These courses will expand the knowledge of computer and the important of new technology.

Problems
Most of people do not have a real knowledge about computer science and how it can enhance our life and how life can be much more organized with the new technology. Our city is rich of classes and clubs that concerned in teaching English language, pottery, drawing, and photography for children or adults. However, there are no classes or clubs for computer unless it is about Photoshop. Because most of the knowledge that is provided by the school about computer is superficial, most of people use computer and new technology only for entertainment. 1. Scarcity of workforce who specialize in computer science especially among girls. 2. Less use of new technology to provide solution for school assignments or work jobs. These problems can prevent the development of the city.

Objectives
1. Having a computers courses for children aged from 11 -16. 2. Enhance the education of the area. 3. Enhance the knowledge of how the new technology can help in improving the work performance and organizing the team work. 4. Increase the workforce in computers majors.

Proposed Solution
My proposed solution is to expand people knowledge of computer science and persuade people to choose computer as a major, I propose to offer some courses that help in identifying computer science and how the technology is important and can improve and enhance the performance of work. Some of these courses are fundamental programming. Fundamental programming is one of the most important courses of computer science and will provide a good idea of computer sciences courses. In addition to that, this course will improve the logic of the children. Another course is MS management software, which helps in making agenda for team work and recording

the performance of the team, in addition to adding some of comments about work. Another proposed course is troubleshooting. This course will give children an idea about some features that computer science has and also will teach them to depend on themselves in solving simple problems which need quick action to avoid wasting time especially at work.

Method for achieving this goal

Finding a volunteers To make these courses available for people, we will need some volunteers who are eligible to teach computer courses. Since we will have three rooms, we will need three volunteers. In our city we have a conference for the importance of volunteering and a lot of people attend this conference. However, most of them end up without finding any place to volunteer in. So, we will inform these people who want to volunteer by making bulletins in the city mobile broadcast. Choosing the time I propose to make these courses once a week every Saturday. Since we are targeting teenagers who are usually busy during the normal days with their schools and some of them will require at least one day for rest, one day a week will assure a perfect time for most of teenagers. Also, since people in our city are active from after noon until the mid-night while night usually is used for visiting family and friends, I propose the courses take place in afternoon. Advertising for the courses Advertising is a very easy process in our city due to the especial cellphone application that broadcast news about our city and most of people have this application. I also propose to post the advertising for the courses in our city page in Facebook.

Resources Needed
Since the proposal is about making computer courses, we will need computers lab. Resources computers lab Teachers More information Available in your building already Getting them from volunteer conference. Also, I have some friends who are ready to volunteer. These books are students responsibility to buy the one that they need.
