Sometimes you just need to add something a bit different to those hours of drinking. So why not make it a day of boozing, strolling, stunning scenery, fresh air and general countryside hi-jinks? Honestly. Theres nothing quite like working up an appetite for pub fish and chips and real ale... Here are some of the UK's prettiest pub crawls:

Yorkshire Dales
The walk: Visit three lovely pubs on your stroll across the Dales, starting at Buckden National Park. Head uphill (go on, just think of the forthcoming refreshments) and reach a hamlet called Cray. Once you find a small footpath, you can rest those feet, treading downhill before you cross the beck via stepping stones and stumble upon the family-run White Lion, set in the heart of the Dales. Put your feet up by the log fire before setting off again. Follow the track through woodland and over a footbridge before reaching a Victorian farmhouse and pass by the building and into Hubberholme, where youll find pub number two. Follow the river from The George back down to Buckden. Finish off with a mountain of well-deserved food and bevvys in The Buck. The pubs: The White Lion, The George, The Buck. Find out more about the walk here.

Pen-Y-Fan
The walk: Trek up South Wales highest point for an amazing view over the rest of the Brecon Beacons, towards Snowdonia, as well as - so we hear, on very clear days - Exmoor. Yep, that Pen-Y-Fan is high. 2,907ft up, in fact. Reward your climbing efforts with a trip to two-time winner of Britains Best Pub, The Bear Inn, at Crickhowell. The pub: The Bear Inn

Lake District
The Walk: Amble around, er, Ambleside and venture into the of boozers situated at the foot of glorious lakeside mountains, perhaps after a hike up the nearby Scafell, which is one of the Three Peaks. Youll probably want to stuff your face after such a hardcore walk, so head to the Royal Oak for a pie and sit outside in the front patio as you watch the village go by. Just across the road is the White Lion, serving more hearty meals and you can finish the night off in Churchills, which draws in the student crowd as the sun goes down. The pubs:, Royal Oak The White Lion, Churchills

Herefordshire
The walk: Its not a walk! Take the 20 mile Cider CYCLE route and peddle your way through the tiny lanes, around Ledbury or Pembridge and along Englands best cider-growing areas, tasting the cider as you go along and visiting working farms. How very quaint. The Pubs: The Walwyn Arms, The Scrumpy House Restaurant Know of any more beautiful pub based country strolls? Please let us know in the comments box below! [Image: geograph]
