Are you saved?

A man was swimming in the sea one afternoon and did not know his life would soon be in danger until he felt a very painful cramp in his legs. He could not swim and was drowning. He cried for help. A man who heard his cry quickly swam towards him. He saved the man and brought him safely to shore. So many people today are like the drowning man who do not know they are in danger of perishing. When they die they go to a real place called hell because of their sins. The Bible says the wages of sin is death.(Romans 6.23) All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.(Romans 3.23)It was God Who created the heavens and the earth, and Who created our first parents (they both sinned against God). No one can say he/she is perfect. Only God is sinless. All of us are born in sin. A king once said: Behold, I was shapen [brought forth] in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Psalm 51.5) Parents pass the sin to their children. All will come before God for judgment and finally be thrown into the Lake of Fire. But to the fearful and unbelieving, and sinners, and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and

idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the Lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death. (Revelation 21.8) But God loved sinners and would not like to see them perish. So the Holy Spirit of God has to awaken sinners to see their sinful and wretched condition and wants them to know they are heading for hell. The Holy Spirit has o convict them of sin. Has the Holy Spirit ever awakened you? After the people heard the message of the apostle Peter, they were pricked in their heart. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? (Acts 2.37) The Holy Spirit convicted them and they felt wretched. Did you have this experience? Did the Holy Spirit convict you of sin? An awakened and convicted sinner will never have peace and rest until his/her sins have been removed by the Lord Jesus Christ Who died on the cross for sinners. The Bible says: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. (1 Timothy 1.15) At the moment a person is saved, he/she experiences joy like the Ethiopian eunuch. (Acts 8.39) A saved person knows WHEN, WHERE, WHAT, HOW he was saved, and WHO saved him from sin and going to hell, just like the drowning man who can tell how he was saved in the afternoon at sea, and who saved him. The apostle Paul could testify he met the Lord Jesus Christ at noon on Damascus road, Who became His Saviour. (Acts 22.6) Paul knew he was saved only by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He says, in Ephesians 2.5, You are saved by grace NOT of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2.8,9) It is NOT by obeying Gods commandments, serving Him, doing His will, etc that a person is saved. Then it is NOT of grace but of works. But AFTER a person is saved, he will like to do His commandments, obey His Word and do His will. A lot of people believe in the Lord Jesus for the wrong reasons. A person can believe in the Lord Jesus (he/she can call himself/herself a Christian) and yet NOT saved, like Simon the sorcerer who believed and was baptised (note: baptism can never save a sinner and wash sins away) but had never been saved. He was still in his sin. *Acts 8.13, 22-23) Today, there are many people in churches who are not saved. Also there are many who have left Christ and denied Him. They have NEVER been saved in the first place, and NEVER in Christ.

If you are asked whether you had been convicted of your sins and awakened by the Holy Spirit, and when you were saved, you should not feel annoyed, flabbergasted, or displeased, but feel glad instead to give the answers: HOW was I awakened? HOW was I saved? WHERE was I saved? WHEN was I saved? _____ month ____ day ______ year, TIME?: In the morning/afternoon/night.
