Trouble Shooting Guide(AMF) Panels only

If Engine Does not start from the AMF panel In any mode but start from its own panel.

Check the DC supply controlfuses/ MCBs F10 and F11. These should be in On position. Check the battery Voltage terminals 1 and 2 in the AMF Panel. It should be at or above 24/12V. Check all control wires at control terminals in AMF Panel and on the engine. Tighten if loose. Check Battery terminals, should be properly tightened and should not be corroded. If battery is not charged, Check Battery Charger switch on AMF control Panel. It should be in ON/Trickle position and Battery Charger indication should also be on. Check LLOP signal at AMF Panel Control terminal no.8. It should be properly connected and on engine terminal too

There is sound that the starter is engaged but it slips or cranks slowly.

The battery connection is loose or corroded. Check and correct the problem. Check if the battery voltage is at or above 24/12v. If not getting the necessary voltage get the battery charged before making the further attempts the battery is weak. If the main supply is avialable, set the battery charger to boost cycle and wait till the battery is charged to its peak value as stated above.

The engine cranks but will not fire.

Check the fuel supply line to ensure that fuel line check valve near the Fuel tank is open. There is fuel in Fuel tank

Engine Starts but there is no voltage from the control panel.

Check that the MCB/HRC fuses placed below the alternator contactor are OK. Check that the control Fuses/MCB's at F1, F2, F3 are O.K./on Check that the setting at the alternator voltage monitor is not too high set it to 360V and try again.

Set its timing to higher level. Check the overload relay by pressing the reset lever P3 and P4.

The main Supply is available but the load does not transfer.

Check the instrument fuses/MCB's at F4, F5, F6. Lower the setting of Main Voltage Monitor to 360V and increase its Timer setting. Increase the voltage setting gradually if main voltage is not acceptable on load equipment

The battery charger light is OFF or battery is not being charged as shown by DC Voltmeter /Ammeter.

Check the Battery charger On Bulb. Check Fuse /MCB at F9.

There is no main supply and Engine does not start.

Check DC fuses/NCB's F10, F11, F12 Replace if fuses are blown.Or turn on MCB if off. Check voltage across DC Voltmeter, if there is no voltage see if battery connections are loose or disconnected.

Main supply is restored but DG fails to stop.

Check DC fusesor MCB's F10, F11, F12. Replace if blown.or turn on if off Check if stop solenoid on the engine is stuck. Pull it by giving a pull on the wire without touching the solenoid (CAUTION- IT COULD BE VERY HOT)till the engine solenoid.
