FINAL YEAR PROJECT TOWARDS M.SC DISSERTATION

 Topic : Algorithms on Combinatorial Optimization – under the guidance of
Dr.M.P.Biswal, Department of Mathematics, IIT Kharagpur.
 Abstract : I worked on relaxation for Integer Programming Problems which are special
cases of linear programming where the decision variables are integers . I applied
Branch and Bound, Branch and Cut, Cutting Plane and Interior Point algorithms. They
have wide range of applicability in efficient allocation of scarce resources, scheduling,
optimization problems etc.
BACHELOR’S THESIS
 Topic : Development of an Internet tool for Numerical Analysis – under the
guidance of Dr.Somesh Kumar, Department of Mathematics, IIT Kharagpur.
 Abstract : I developed a user-friendly software on Numerical Methods. It was done in
HTML and JavaScript. It has been hosted on internet, the site being
http://members.fortunecity.com/shaily1/title.html. It is supported by JavaScript enabled browsers.
It covered various aspects of numerical analysis like methods on Interpolation,
numerical integration, solutions of systems of linear equations and iterative methods of
solving equations.

three girls’ hostels.

the Gymkhana during my tenure.
 A new badminton court was made at that time in the hostel to promote
sports activities among girls.
