August 11, 2009

It’s the first day of our Disaster Nursing duty. I thought it is a
hospital duty. In woke up as early as I can. I dressed up early for me not to
be late. I don’t even knew where is that “Maysan” is. At the school, I am late
that day. Honestly I’m bored. But then our clinical instructor had introduced
the bandaging topic. And that day had been fun.
August 12, 2009
Well, moving forward, we are now in our second day. And it’s our
Return Demonstration day. We are asked to perform three out of the
fifteen types bandaging. I am so tensed in that demonstration. I thought I
am about to retake demonstration and fortunately, I passed and I don’t need
to retake. We also had some discussion about moving the patient from the
scene to the hospital, as well as splinting techniques. We had taken the
return demonstration that day because we were the last group to perform
bandaging. Its fun to do the things that Ms. Kring had thought us.
August 13, 2009
As the days goes by, we had reached the third of our training. It is a
boring day. We only had a discussion and a quiz had let that day passed
through. A discussion of the photo copied lecture and the Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation topic. I was so bored that day. Unfortunately Ms. Kring
announced that there will be a return demonstration for the
cardiopulmonary Resuscitation that awakened me. Luckily, our leader got the
last number in the draw lots.
August 17, 2009
Last three days for our Disaster Nursing. I think this will be boring-
free days because we are now immune with each other and we are about to
throw some jokes to our classmates and new friends.
With tense, I remembered the return demonstration. I can say that I
am neither lucky nor unlucky, but always, I am the last.
August 18, 2009
It was the second to the last day, we had accomplished the things
that that we need to be demonstrated. We had our Heimlich maneuver today
and its fun. We have had a practice to the role play to be played at the last
day.
August 19, 2009
Last day had arrived. Oh!! Our role plays rules!! First of all is the
practice for the play. Then the evaluation examination for all the things that
had been discussed and tackled came. Now I can proudly say that “I am
Reychelle Gamboa a trained first aider, may I help you?”.

Flood
Timely yet terrifying, The Flood predicts the unthinkable. When a
raging storm coincides with high seas it unleashes a colossal tidal surge,
which travels mercilessly down England's East Coast and into the Thames
Estuary. Overwhelming the Barrier, torrents of water pour into the city. The
lives of millions of Londoners are at stake. Top marine engineers and barrier
experts Rob, his ex-wife Sam and his father Leonard Morrison, have only a
few hours to save the city from total devastation. It is not a question of if,
but when London floods.

Pre-disaster Phase

Before the great flood came, the engineers had designed a water
barrier for the water not to pour into their country. The media was also
updating the public all the things that they needs to do when the great flood
will be damaging their country. Another is allotting calamity funds.

Disaster Phase

When the flood came, all of the people in the places that are affected
had let the authority be in an evacuation center. And the barrier that had
been made for the water not to pour was closed. The authority kept on
patrolling all over the affected areas if there are still victims that needs to
be rescued.

Post disaster phase

After the disaster, the authority had been monitoring the affected
area if it will be safe for the civilian to go home. Another one is the tallying
of all the damage properties that had been damage due to the calamity.
