After watching the tutorial, go to our unique website: http://www.typhongroup.net/asurams Log in using the username and password that was sent to you by the ASU Typhon Administrator (Waretta Sawyer). If needed, the account number is 7157. 1. Go to Modify Account Information Agree with site license agreement Enter any personal information you wish to record (e.g. phone, etc)

2. Go to Set up Default Choices At minimum, select the semester and the course from the drop-down menu If you know your preceptor and your clinical site, select them from the drop-down menu. If either the preceptor or the clinical site cannot be found in the drop-down list, please notify Waretta Sawyer ASAP at waretta.sawyer@asurams.edu. If you do NOT know your preceptor/clinical site, OR if they are not available on the drop-down menu, you will need to enter fictitious information in order to complete this webquest---select Dr. Marcus Welby as your preceptor, and WWW Virtual Clinical Site as your clinical site. This is just temporary--- you must remember to change it later when your preceptor is uploaded by Waretta.

3. Go to the Downloads section on the right-hand side Click on Blank Case Log Worksheet. Download it to your computer by clicking on the hyperlink called pdf version in the upper right-hand corner. This is what you will likely bring to clinical with you to record your clinical encounters. Name and login information are changed by program admins. Do not submit request to Typhon group. Why cant you enter patient data on someone over age 90? Due to HIPPA privacy regulations, patients ages greater than 89 are considered protected health information and cannot be entered into Typhon.

5. Now its time to enter patient data! On the left-hand side of the screen, under Case Log Management, click on Add new case. Here is the information you will need to enter: Today, you saw a 6-month old Hispanic boy who was brought in by his mother for complaints of fever. Mother speaks only Spanish. He is a new patient, so this is your first encounter with him on this episodic visit. His insurance type is Medicaid. You spent 15 minutes with the mom and patient, and consulted with your preceptor for 5 minutes. Decision-making was straight-forward, the H & P was problem-focused, and in terms of your assessment and management of this patient, you were the primary provider (rather than your preceptor), with your participation greater than 50%. Social problems addressed included Education/Language and Prevention. Because the child was also wheezing and had a low pulse ox (SaO2), you did an RSV swab (CPT code 87807). This came back positive, so his final diagnosis was Acute Bronchiolitis RSV (ICD code 466.11). Enter these and then double check that they are correct by clicking on Validate codes. In terms of management, you prescribe two medications: 1) Motrin for fever, and 2) Augmentin, which is a beta-lactam antibiotic. You also make a referral to Community Services. DO NOT click on Save Data at the bottom. Instead, once you get all of the data entered, please do a screen capture. On a PC, you will see a keyboard button at the top that says Print Screen. Click on that, and then paste the image to this document. To paste, you could just click on Control-V.
