TK U!
In the Gospel today, we hear that, after meeting the Christ child,
the three magi departed for their country by another way. It is
always true that an encounter with Christ changes us, and so we
depart by another way. When has this happened in your life?
When have you met Christ, been transformed, and set out on a
new path, in a new direction?

Black bag COLLECTION TODAY!
Todays Black Bag collection will benefit St.
Louise House, an apartment-style transitional
housing program. Its mission is to provide a safe,
nurturing environment for homeless women and
their children so that they can heal the emotional,
physical, and spiritual wounds of homelessness
and develop skills to become self-sufficient and to secure stable
housing. Families who would otherwise be treated with neglect,
harshness, or pity can instead experience the values of respect,
trust, and responsibility. For more information, visit
saintlouisehouse.org!
Would you like to volunteer with kids?

What is Epiphany?

Epiphany is a traditional Christian feast
commemorating the mystery of the incarnation
and the manifestation of Jesus Christ to the
world. Epiphany means manifestation or
striking appearance, and on this day we
celebrate the revelation of God the Son as a human being in Jesus
Christ. In the West, we especially commemorate the visit of the
Magi to the baby Jesus, an encounter that represents Jesus physical
manifestation to the Gentiles. Meanwhile, Eastern Christians
commemorate the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River, which is
seen as His manifestation to the world as the Son of God.

Whether in Western tradition or in Eastern tradition, the essence
of the feast is considered the same: the manifestation of Jesus Christ
to the world in a human form and the mystery of incarnation.
Besides, the miracle at the wedding at Cana is also organized during
this special holiday as the first manifestation of Christs public life.

FR. ISAAC HECKER QUOTE
Wealth can be used to great merit, equal to
the virtue of poverty. The mission of those
who live in this world is to do good rather
than to live a strict religious life. Doing good
with ones wealth lights a candle in our
world. It can be more believable to people
than the witness of religious or priests.
Why? Because when priests do good, they
are doing their job. Their witness is their
profession, their bread and butter, not so
with people who live in the world, no selfish
motive can be attributed to them. (Notes on
the Spiritual Life, 1860)
