New & Improved on The Front Porch

“And the one seated upon the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 20:5) NRSV

One commentator has state that in this verse, “…the Almighty himself
promises that all that now robs life from being fulfilled, joyful, vibrant life
will be absent from the transcendent reality to which he is leading
history.” This is the reason we worship! The scripture also connotes that
God is “making all things new;” meaning that he is not finished with
newness. Neither are we on the Front Porch.

We are currently working with a new BETA version of our EasyWorship

presentation software. There is a new update that is free which we
hope to download and incorporate into the system. Whomever
downloaded the EasyWorship BETA version needs to download the
free update and incorporate it into the system. Most of the updates
relate to stability and use of the software. A major update that will allow
cross-platform use on Macs and Windows as well as greater flexibility
and new features is rumored for the future. This also promises a greater
use of video and graphics.

We continue experimenting to tighten the worship experience and

remove things and actions that might block the worship experience and
add elements that may enhance worship. One strong suggestion is the
introduction of no more than one, or at the most, two new songs to any
service. Though this must not be a hard and fast rule, it should be a
guideline to follow. Of course, what is new to some is old hat to others and vice versa, so we will still experience hits and misses.
A blending of old texts with new melodies is one compromise to which we are looking as well as expanding our repertoire with new
music and repeating those songs we have already learned.

Our rehearsals have become more efficient for the most part. Please abide by the need for whomever is in charge of worship to
have the final say-so over how the music is to be led and presented. If everyone presses for their idea of what to do, rehearsals
become a free-for-all and much time is wasted.

Letʼs keep on keeping on and bathe our efforts and suggestions with prayer. God will continue to guide us as we worship God and
lead others in worship.
