Operating safety
Never open the housing of the Graphic Tablet! This could lead to an electrical short-circuit, damage to your Graphic Tablet or fire. Never insert any objects through the slits and openings into the inside of the Graphic Tablet. Doing so could lead to an electrical short circuit or damage to your Graphic Tablet. The device is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Keep the packing materials such as foil away from children as there is a danger of suffocation. This Graphic Tablet is intended for personal use only and is not intended for commercial use of any kind. Do not press heavily on the digital pen cartridge. Doing so may cause damage to the pen tip or the pen itself and result in malfunction. In the first hours of operation, new devices may emit a typical, unavoidable but completely harmless smell, which will decline increasingly in the course of time. We recommend you ventilate the room regularly, to counteract the formation of the smell.
Point of use
Keep your Graphic Tablet and all connected equipment away from moisture, dust, heat and direct sunlight in order to avoid malfunctions. Only use in a suitable ambient temperature:
Environment conditions
The Graphic Tablet can be operated at an ambient temperature of 10 C/40 F to 40 C/104 F and a relative humidity of 35% to 80% (not condensing). When switched off the Graphic Tablet can be stored at temperature from -10 C/14 F to 60 C/140F at a relative humidity of 20 % to 80 % (not condensing). After transporting your Graphic Tablet wait until it has reached room temperature before turning on. In the event of major variations in the temperature or humidity, condensation can form on the inside of the Graphic Tablet which can cause an electrical shortcircuit.
Electro-magnetic compatibility
When connecting the Graphic Tablet observe the guidelines for electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC). Maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from sources of high frequency and magnetic interference (television sets, loudspeakers, mobile telephones, etc.), in order to avoid malfunctions and data loss.
Connecting
Observe the following instructions to connect your Graphic Tablet properly: Route the cable so that no one can step on it or stumble over it. To avoid damage to the cable do not place any objects or furniture on the cable.
Data security
Every time you update your computers data make back-up copies on an external storage medium, i.e. CDR disc. We cannot assume a liability for data loss or associated subsequent damage.
Battery Handling
Batteries may contain combustible materials. Misusing them may cause battery leakage, heat, explosion or ignition, bringing about injury or damage to the product or YOU. Please observe strictly the following: KEEP CHILDREN AWAY from batteries. If by any chance, batteries are swallowed, consult a medical doctor immediately. DO NOT CHARGE batteries (except rechargeable batteries). DO NOT FORCIBLY DISCHARGE batteries. DO NOT SHORT-CIRCUIT batteries. DO NOT HEAT or DISPOSE OF IN FIRE. DO NOT DISASSEMBLE or DEFORM batteries. Your hands and fingers may be injured, or the liquid of the battery may get into your eyes or adhere to your skin. If this happens, rinse with a large quantity of water immediately and consult a medical doctor. DO NOT expose batteries to strong impacts by dropping or throwing the batteries. DO NOT reverse the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals to avoid short-circuit. REMOVE PROMPTLY any used battery from the device. REPLACE THE BATTERY with a new battery of the same type.
INSULATE THE TERMINAL parts with tape or the like when storing or at disposal of the batteries. DO NOT throw drained batteries in with the domestic rubbish! Respect the environment and dispose of them in the specific containers for separate collection. If necessary, turn to your reseller or to our service centre. Thank you!
Repairs
Please contact our service centre if you have any problems with your Graphic Tablet. ONLY have repairs completed by our authorised service centre. Contact your local service centre when... Cleaning
Clean the Graphic Tablet with a moist cloth. Do not use any type of solvents, caustic or gaseous cleaning agents.
Introduction
Proper Use
This device is intended for recording written notes and drawings on a computer. Using the software supplied, you can convert the handwritten notes to text or drawings to graphics. In addition, certain computer commands (e.g., mouse control or program or functional executions) can be controlled via the digitizing tablet.

2. Remove the clip and take off the battery lid. 3. Remove the spent battery and insert a new AAA battery. Make sure that the battery end marked "+" points toward the pen tip and that the other end marked "-" touches the contact spring at the back. 4. Put the battery back on, reattach the clip and screw on the cap. Note: Read the instructions on the safe handling of batteries starting on page 3.
Software Installation
You can manage, edit and convert your notes and drawings with the software supplied. You can also use the Graphic Tablet in combination with a compatible graphics program such as "Paint".
Disk content: Macro Key Manager: Installing this program allows you to use the macro functions of the Graphic Tablet. Power Presenter RE*: Auxiliary program for editing presentations. Free Notes* & Office Ink*: Auxiliary program for preparing notes.
Photo Impact 12: Auxiliary program to edit graphics. * only for Windows XP. Note: Windows Vista Home Premium and higher does not require any drivers. Most functions of the auxiliary programs supplied are already integrated with this operating system. Important: Before connecting the device to your PC, you should first install the software (particularly the Macro Key Manager). When installing programs or drivers, it is possible that important files might be overwritten or changed. In order to ensure access to original files after the installation, you should back up the contents of your hard drive before installing the software. 1. Insert the installation disk. Installation starts automatically. Note: If the installation does not occur automatically, the "Autorun" feature is probably disabled. Manual installation without Autorun function: 1. Open the "Start menu" and select the entry "Run". 2. Now enter the letter of the disk drive followed by a colon and the program name "Setup". 3. Confirm by clicking on "OK". 2. Follow the instructions on the screen and install any of the programs from the CDs that you have selected. An extensive help wizard for using the software has been installed automatically. 3. Restart your computer following the installation to complete the process.
Operation
The digitizing tablet functions will be available to you as soon as it has been connected successfully to the computer. Now you can start programmes such as Free Notes, Office Ink or any other common graphics software such as Windows Paint to start working with the digitizing tablet. By moving the digital pen, you can move the mouse cursor. The recognition area is displayed proportionally to the screen. Once the pen is in the recognition area, the LED lights up and stays lit.

Customer service
Troubleshooting
The device is not recognized and/or is not activated. Have you connected the cables according to the instruction manual? Check your cable connections
Did you restart your computer following the installation? The device does not respond to the pen. Make sure that the battery has been inserted properly. Check the power level of the battery.
Disconnect from the PC and reconnect the device again. If possible, use a different USB port. The writing on the tablet changes or disappears in some areas completely. Change the pressure/speed with which you write. Change the angle of the pen to the surface of the device. The writing is severely distorted, sluggish or not visible at all. If you have not used the device for an extended period of time, check the power level of the batteries.
