INTRODUCTION Challenging times can be harbingers of remarkable opportunities-the opportunity to relook at the way we function, how we utilize our resources and our strategies to excel, even when the going is tough. Such times are best utilized by ensuring that people are equipped to move fast and are quick to learn. Today, one of the challenges being faced by organizations is optimization of costs and this has put huge pressure on investment in people development and training budgets. However, there has never been a better time than now to invest in people, but with a different approach, where inhouse resources can address challenges associated with the T & D function. As engaging trainers from outside the organization is a restricted option, building in house competence in designing and delivering development programs, is a sustainable and intelligent option-especially keeping the long-term perspective in mind. In this way, despite restrictions, people development would continue to grow and develop as an integral part of the business, with strong linkages to strategy, employee development, and other systems. Keeping this in mind, TVRLS has designed a 4-month certificate program, with the idea to build competence of the in house resource to take charge of the most essential aspects of the training & development function, and ensure continuous value addition. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES This certificate program intends to prepare participants in developing the following skills: Implementing Training Need Identification & Analysis (TNIA) processes effectively in their organization Analyzing TNIA data to design appropriate development programs Garnering the skill to deliver training programs (facilitation skills) Institutionalizing Training & Development Function and Best Practices (This certificate program will focus on behavior based, soft skills and other Organizational Development, Learning and Development areas. Technical training does not form a part of this program)

The participants will receive specially designed study material via courier for the first 2 months; it will be followed by a 4-day non-residential contact workshop at Bangalore. Participants will have to undertake project work in their organizations after this. The enrolment in the program does not automatically merit certification.
