O&M Manuals: Submit to Company Representative with detailed instruction manual on the operation and maintenance of pumps. Characteristic Curves: Head capacity, efficiency capacity, brake horsepower capacity, and NPSHR capacity for each pump and for combined pumps in parallel or series service. Identify pump and show fluid pumped, specific gravity, pump speed and curves plotted from zero flow to maximum for the impeller being furnished and at least the maximum diameter impeller that can be used with the casing.

Design and construction requirements A. Design and manufacture: Chilled water pumps shall be a manufacturers standard designed and manufactured unit consisting of centrifugal pump and electric motor drive including all necessary accessories for a complete and fully operational unit. It shall also be designed to allow the removal of the rotating elements for inspection and service without disturbing the system piping. Pumps installed under open shed shall be considered as outdoor installation.

Furnish and install pumps with capacities as indicated on the drawings/equipment schedule. Chilled water pumps shall be flexible coupled, end suction type. Rated Operating Conditions: 1. Unless otherwise specified, all pumps shall be rated for minimum of 12.07 bars (175 psi) working pressure At specified system fluid temperature, the pump shall be nonoverloading and shall operate without vapor binding and cavitations. All pumps shall be specifically designed for continuous service.

Pump Rotation: 1. Pumps shall be selected either right-hand (clockwise, CW) rotation or left-hand (counterclockwise ,CCW) rotation depending on the design requirement. a. Horizontal Pump Shaft Rotation: The rotation of horizontal pump can be determined by standing at the driver end and facing the pump. If the top of the shaft revolves from left to right or revolves from right to left, the rotations is CW or CCW respectively.

End Suction Pump A. Pumps with capacities as shown on plans. Pumps shall be base mounted, single stage, flexible coupled, end suction design with a foot mounted volute to allow servicing of the impeller and bearing assembly without disturbing piping connections. Pumps volute shall be Class 30 cast iron with integrally cast pedestal support feet. The impeller shall be cast bronze enclosed type, dynamically balanced, keyed to the shaft and secured by a locking capscrew. The liquid cavity shall be sealed off at the pump shaft by an internallyflushed mechanical sealwith ceramic seat and carbon seal ring, suitable for continuous operation at 225oF. A replaceable bronze shaft sleeve shall completely cover the wetted area under the seal. Pumps shall be rated for minimum of 175 PSI working pressure. Volute shall have gauge tappings at the suction and discharge nozzles and vent and drain tappings at the top and bottom. Baseplate shall be of structural steel or fabricated steel channel with fully enclosed sides and ends, and securely welded cross members. Grouting area shall be fully opened. A flexible type, center dropout design coupler, capable of absorbing torsional vibration, shall be employed between the pump sna motor. Coupler shall be shielded by a coupler guard securely fastened to the base. Each pump shall be factory tested per Hydraulic Institute standards. It shall then be thoroughly cleaned and painted with at least one coat of high grade machinery enamel prior to shipment. Pump shall generally comply with SAES-K-001.

Motor A. Motors shall be for NEMA PremiumTM efficiency rated motors. Motors for outdoor installation shall be a totally enclosed type. Motors for indoor application shall be totally enclosed or of the dripproof guarded type.

D. Motor insulation system shall be Class F minimum with motor temperature rise to meet NEMA MG1 requirements for Class B Insulation. Motor used with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) shall be compatible with the drive unit, and be suitable for operation under the drive method of control. Motors in an air conditioned environment where the air conditioning equipment has a design temperature of 35 deg.C or less may be rated for use in a 40 deg C. Ambient. Motor ratings shall be selected from SAES-P-113, Table 1. Size and location of motors indicated is based on a specific design and may change slightly from one manufacturer to another. Connection shall be made to equipment as actually installed. Before connecting to any piece of equipment, the nameplate data shall be checked against the information shown on the Drawings. When electrically driven equipment furnished under these specifications materially differs from the contemplated design, make the necessary adjustments to the wiring, disconnect, services overload heaters and branch circuit protection to the equipment actually installed. Motors shall be installed in accordance with ANSI/NFPA-70. Motor installation shall meet the noise requirements of SAES-A-105. Motors shall be tested under conditions as near as possible to normal operating conditions for as long a time as necessary to demonstrate correct alignment, wiring capacity, speed, and satisfactory operation. The motor shall be loaded to full capacity, or as near thereto as possible.

Part 3 - Execution 3.01 Mounting A. Pumps and drivers shall be mounted and aligned in accordance with the latest edition of the Hydraulic Institute Standards for Centrifugal, Rotary and Reciprocating Pumps. The pumps shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of Hydraulic institute Standards and/or the manufacturers recommended instructions. Vibration level for the pumps at rated speed shall not exceed 0.62 mil (0.0157mm) peak-to-peak. The procedure for measurements shall be in accordance with ANSI S2.17.

Installation A. Install and connect pipe work to the pump with accurate center lines. Adhere to manufacturers recommendations for its installation. Seal and gasket shall be checked about leakage. Provide flexible connector as necessary. The unit after installation shall be cleaned tested and checked against excessive vibration. Provide services of a qualified mechanic or millwright to check all pumps for proper alignment prior to placing the pumps in service at no additional cost to Saudi Aramco. Insure that no undue stress or strain is exerted on any pump due to the installations of the piping either by alignment, weight or velocity pressure. Proper anchoring and supports shall be provided to insure against this condition. The WORK will not be accepted as completed until the Operating and Maintenance Manuals has been submitted to Saudi Aramco Representative and approved. Replace or repair damage equipment, materials, defective WORK is directed by Company Representative at no additional cost to Saudi Aramco.
