UZI CARBINE .22 LR CONVERSION KIT MANUAL


THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS WILL APPLY TO THE .22 LR CALIBER CONVERSION FOR THE UZI SEMI-AUTOMATIC CARBINE. PLEASE READ INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR YOUR UZI CARBINE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE YOUR .22 LR CONVERSION KIT OR TO DISASSEMBLE YOUR UZI CARBINE.
Always remove the magazine immediately after firing and make sure that the chamber is empty. Make sure that the fire selector (safety catch) is on "S" (Safe) position to guarantee that the carbine is safe whenever: - Inserting magazine. - You have stopped firing it. The carbine is being transported or moved. - The carbine is not in use. When handling the carbine: Never point it at a person. Always make sure that the barrel points in a safe direction. - Ahvays assume that the carbine is loaded.

Neverloada carbine until you are ready to use it. Practice handling the carbine empty before attempting to fire (The UZ1 may be dry fired without harm to the carbine). Whenever the shod (display) barrel is installed: - Never insert a loaded magazine. - Never attempt to fire the carbine. Before shooting the carbine: - Always wear eye and ear protection. - Always be sure of target backstop and what lies beyond if.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Use only dean, dry, original high qual2y currently commercially manufactured .22LR
High Velocity ammunition in good condition. Standad velocity ammunition should not be used. Never handle ammunition with oily fingers. The UZI Semi-Automatic Carbine can be fired under some circumstanceswith the bolt

Make sure that the barrel is fully seated before firing.

REMEM8ER:ALWAYS ASSUME THAT THE CARBINE IS LOADED: LOOKING INTO THE END OF THE BARREL (MUZZLE) IS NOT RECOMMENDED AT ANY TIME.

1. Hold down receiver cover. 2. Push cover catch to the rear (fig.3) 3. Remove cover by lifting upward and rearward (fig. 4)

I. DISASSEMBLY
Rememberr Ensure that your UZI Carbine is unloaded. Make sure that the magazine is removed from your Carbine.

REMOVING THE BOLT AND STRIKER ASSEMBLY

1. Lift the bolt up about 1 ",press backward %" and lift bolt and striker assembly out and forward (fig. 5).

Make sure barrel is completely removed before inserting conversion kit.

1. Depress barrel retaining nut catch (fig. 1) 2. Unscrew barrel retaining nut counterclockwise (looking from the front). 3 .Pull out barrel.

1. Insert entire bolt and striker assembly unit by lowering rear portion into receiver and sliding back towards buffer.

2. When assembly unit is fully rearward lower front portion into receiver until fully seated.

MAKE SURE TO INSERT CORRECT CAMBER BARREL (TO MATCH BOLT) BEFORE PROCEEDING. 1. lnsert barrel into place. Make sure that the FLATS on the barrel line up with the FLATS on the barrel housing protrusion (fig. 2).

2. Depress barrel retaining nut catch. 3. Hand tighten barrel retaining nut catch until fully seated. 4. Release catch. 5. Hand tighten again to insure that nut is fully seated. YOU ARE NOW READY TO LOAD YOUR UZI CARBINE. SEE ABOVE SAFETY BEFORE PROCEEDING. PRECAUTIONS

WARNING: Do not insert a loaded magazine when short (display) barrel is installed.
To put your UZI Carbine back to its original caliber, see instruction manual under "ASSEMBLY".

1. Lmsen top screw enough to allow

Note: Disassembly of the bolt and magazine is not recommended. 3. To assemble, align return spring assembly and ejector with the assembly unit and tighten front and rear screws. 4. Insert bolt so that it aligns with the return spring. Hold bolt backenough to allow tightening of the top screw until seated. NOTE: Your conversion kit will function more smoothly when only 19 rounds are loaded in the 20-round magazine.
