The Award was presented by Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha, Smt Meira Kumar as Chief Guest and Ms Priyanka Chopra, Actor as Guest of Honour. The function Presided over by Mr Subodh Kant Sahai, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism. The Award was received by Shri A. Venkateswara Rao - Chairman, Shri A. Krishna Mohan - Managing Director & Shri A.V.Praveen Kumar - Joint Managing Director

Smt. Miera Kumar, Honorable Speaker, Lok Sabha gave this award in a grand ceremony on 28 March 2011 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. Brief History of Mount Kailash & Manasarovar

Mount Kailash (6714 m, 22156 ft.) is situated in the southwestern part of Tibet. The mountain's physical form and colour make it a natural symbol of purity. On the lap of Mt. Kailash is Lake "Manasarovar" which is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. Mt. Kailash, appearing like a giant Shivalingam placed in a 16 petalled lotus, is regarded by Hindus as an embodiment of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi. The sacred Manasarovar lake is at a height of 4560 mts. the sea level with a circumference of 110 kms, can be trekked in about 3 days. It has a depth of 300 ft and covers an area of 350 sq kms. It gives a most beautiful and impressive foreground to the snow capped Mt. Kailash shining in the north. Now the network of motorable roads turned the dreams into reality. Journey begins with scenic drive from Kathmandu to Nepal-Tibet Border, Kodari. From here land cruiser jeeps take the piligrim to Kailash Manasarovar to achieve our ultimate goal. We take "Parikrama" (Circumambulation) of Manasarovar lake by Jeep and Mount Kailash on foot. A ritual bath in the sacred Manasarovar will take the a pilgrims to Brahma's paradise and drinking of its waters relinquishes the sins of hundred of life times. Visas & Documentations : Indians are not required to obtain Nepal Visa. We obtain your Visa for Tibet from Chinese embassy and all necessary permits for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. Photo copy of passport with details (full name exactly like in the Passport, Date of Birth, Occupation, Passport number and Nationality) should reach us atleast 4 weeks before the commencement of the tour. Passport must be valid at least for 6 months from the date of entry in Tibet. Passport will be given after obtaining Chinese Visa prior to departure of the Mt. Kailash Tour at Delhi or Kathmandu. How ever you need to carry Voter ID Card to reach to Kathmandu. Transportation : Kathmandu - Kodari - Kathmandu will be by private bus for the group. Thereafter in Tibet you will be travelling in 4WD Toyota, Land Cruiser Jeep throughout the journey. Your Luggage, Food items and all camping equipments will be carried in a separate truck. Accommodation : In Kathmandu Single / Twin / Tripple Bed sharing rooms will be provided as per the requirement, but in Tibet 2 to 6 Bed sharing rooms are available in Tented Camp / Hotel / Guest Houses. Rooms at the guest houses in Tibet have basic facilities but without any modern amenities. During camping high at altitudes, tents with mattresses and sleeping bags will be provided. Food & Beverage : We will be providing pure vegetarian meals through out the tour. You are advised to bring sufficient supplementary foods like Chocolates, Biscuits, Nuts, Bhujias, Savouries etc. for yourself. Briefing & Orientation : On the day of your arrival at Kathmandu, there will be a film and slide show followed by detail briefing about the programme and on high altitude sickness, its symptoms and prevention. Temperature & Weather : In Tibet, weather condition from May to September is dry and sunny. Maximum temperature will be 220 degrees centigrade and minimum 00 to 100 degrees centigrade.
