The active BBU3806 provides clock signals and control signals for other BBU3806s.
When there is only one BBU3806, it is still set to active.
The standby BBU3806 receives clock signals and switchover signals from the active
BBU3806. Both BBU3806s form a baseband resource pool. If the active BBU3806
fails, a standby one replaces it and becomes active.
The active and standby BBU3806s are connected through Ela connectors.

Chapter 5 RRU3801C
5.3 Functions
The RRU3801C is a remote radio unit of the distributed NodeB system.
The RRU3801C has the following functions:
z
Receiving RF signals from the antenna and feeder system, down-converting the
signals to Intermediate Frequency (IF) signals, and then transmitting them to the
BBU or the macro NodeB after amplification, analog-to-digital conversion, digital
down-conversion, matched filtering, and Digital Automatic Gain Control (DAGC)
Receiving downlink (DL) baseband signals from the BBU or the macro NodeB,
forwarding data from its cascaded RRU3801C, performing filtering and
digital-to-analog conversion, and up-converting RF signals to the transmitting
frequency band
Multiplexing receive (RX) and transmit (TX) signals over RF channels and filtering
the RX signals and TX signals
This enables the RX signals and TX signals to share the same antenna path.
5.4 Components
The RRU3801C is an integrated module.
The 20 W RRU3801C has the following components:

Power unit
Power amplifier

5.4.3 LNA
The LNA amplifies the RX signals to avoid loss of signals.
5.4.5 TRX
The TRX of the 20 W RRU3801C is MTRX, and that of the 40 W RRU3801C is RTRX.
The Multi-Carrier Transceiver (MTRX) has two RX channels and one TX channel.
Each channel supports two carriers. The MTRX converts RX signals and TX signals to
CPRI signals.

12.12 RF Cable
12.12.1 Functions
The RF cables to the RRU3801C are of two types:
z
Feeder jumper
The jumper transmits and receives RF signals.
Interconnect jumper
The jumper receives RF signals from divided links when two RRU3801Cs work in
RX diversity mode. The jumper is used by the RRU3801C only in 1 x 2
configuration.
12.12.2 Appearance
Both ends of the feeder jumper are DIN connectors. Jumpers of different length are
selected as follows:
z
When the distance between the RRU3801C and the antenna is shorter than 14 m,
select the feeder jumper with indefinite length. You need to make the connectors
on site. The RRU3801C is directly connected to the antenna through the feeder
jumper.
When the distance between the RRU3801C and the antenna is longer than 14 m,
select the feeder jumper with indefinite length. You need to make the connectors
on site with the length less than 2 m. Ensure that you connect the jumper to the
feeder before you connect the jumper to the RRU3801C and the antenna.
If you prepare the jumper by yourself, it is suggested that the maximum length of
the jumper is 2 m.
The round and waterproof connectors at both ends connect to the RF ports on the
RRU3801C.
