Operator's Manual
CD00746
The crane serial number is written on the Crane Rating Manual located in the lower right interior of the upper cab. The crane serial number should always be fur nished when ordering parts for the crane, or when cor responding with the distributor or factory regarding the crane. The serial number is the only method the dis tributor or factory has of ensuring that the correct parts will be furnished. BOOK798 D3041698RSW
In the event the serial number can not be found on the Crane Rating Manual, the number is stamped on top of the bumper on the right side of the carrier and on the right side of the upper frame just below the boom hoist cylinder lug. This number can then be used to identify the crane.

Operator's Manual
Danger, warning and caution captions as well as spe cial notes are used throughout this manual and on the crane to emphasize important and critical instructions. If any instruction, caution, warning or danger la bels, decals or plates become lost, damaged or un readable, they must be replaced. Information con tained on such labels, decals and plates is important and failure to follow the information they contain could result in an accident. Replacement labels, decals and plates can be ordered through your distributor. For the purpose of this manual, and the labels which are placed on the crane, danger, warning and caution cap tions and notes are defined as follows:
DANGER
An operating procedure, practice, etc. which, if not correctly followed, may result in severe personal injury, dismemberment or loss of life.
WARNING
An operating procedure, practice, etc. which, if not correctly followed, may result in per sonal injury.
CAUTION
An operating procedure, practice, etc. which, if not correctly followed, may result in damage to or destruction of equipment or property.
NOTE
Note: An operating procedure step, condition, etc. which is essential in order for the process to be completed properly.

Technical Bulletin
DATE: 0700 SERIES: ATC/HSP/HTC/RTC NO: 19A SUBJECT: BOOM SECTION REAR BOTTOM WEAR BLOCKS INSPECTION & REPLACEMENT MODELS AFFECTED: HSP8030 Series (58 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HSP8055 Series (53 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC0830 Series (59 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC0840 Series (64 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC1040 Series (57 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC1055 & HTC1060 Series (63 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC1170 Series (70 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC11100 Series (F3 & 65 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC8650 Series (E9 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC8665 Series (D6 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) HTC8670 & HTC8670LB Series (F2 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) RTC8030 Series (D3 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) RTC8050 Series (E1 Prefix Serial Number Cranes) ATC/HSP/HTC/RTC Series Bulletin No. 19A supersedes ATC/HSP/HTC/RTC Series Bulletin No. 19. The information in the superseded bulletin is now obsolete and should be discarded. The purpose of this bulletin is to advise of the need to inspect the rear wear blocks on the boom sections. In some applications, the rear wear blocks on the boom sections may wear to the point that boom damage could occur. Wear on the blocks allows the rear of the boom section to drop down enough to damage the telescope cylinders. Excessive wear could also damage the boom chord corner angle that these wear blocks slide on during extension and retraction of the boom. Inspection Periodically inspect the boom sections and measure the height of the rear wear blocks. (Refer to Boom Section Rear Wear Blocks" chart for minimum height.) During the inspection, check the surfaces on the boom chord corner angles where the wear blocks slide during extension and retraction of the boom. Ensure that the surfaces are smooth (no gouges or excessive wear) and that they are coated with a film of grease. If necessary, add a coat of grease on these surfaces. If the wear blocks are below the minimum height, they must be replaced. (Refer to Wear Block Replacement.) Wear Block Replacement For replacement of the wear blocks on D7, E1, E9, and F2 prefix serial number cranes, kits are avail able which contain the necessary parts and instructions. The kit part number for the inner mid boom section is F2M0229. The kit part number for the outer boom section is F2M0227. Order the kits as required from the Link-Belt Parts Department. For replacement of the wear blocks on D3, D6, F3, 53, 57, 58, 59, 63, 64, 65, and 70 prefix serial number cranes, identify the necessary wear block part numbers from the Boom Section Rear Wear Blocks" chart. Order the part as required from the Link-Belt Part Department. Note: All removal of old wear blocks and welding of replacement wear blocks must be per formed by a certified welder using appropriate procedures.

CAUTION
Use care during the removal process to prevent damage to the boom corner angles. Do not allow removal of any metal from these angles. The structural capabilities of the boom section could be reduced causing boom failure. 2. Cut off the old wear blocks. Weld the new wear blocks in the same location as the old blocks were removed. 3. Fully inspect and lubricate the boom. Refer to the Operator's Manual for procedures. In addi tion, ensure that the surfaces of the boom chord corner angles where the wear blocks slide during extension and retraction of the boom are coated with a film of grease.
