APPLE at a glance
Established on April 1, 1976 in Cupertino by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne in California. Incorporated January 3, 1977, without Wayne. The company was named Apple Computer, Inc. for its first 30 years. The word "Computer" was removed from its name on January 9, 2007. The Companys products and services include iPhone, iPad, Mac,
Name
Apple was so named because Jobs was coming back from an apple farm, and he was on a fruitarian diet. He thought the name was "fun, spirited and not intimidating"
Logo
Apple's first logo, designed by Ron Wayne, depicts Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree.
This logo is often erroneously referred to as a tribute to Alan Turing, with the bite mark a reference to his method of suicide
Apples Creations
To Steve Jobs and the original cadre of Apple developers, however, the goal was to design a computer that both supported and fostered individual work. The company is committed to bringing the best user experience to its customers through its innovative hardware, software, peripherals and services. From the beginning, Apple addressed individual users (the rest of us), believing that products that were intended to be useful to people would in fact so be. For that to happen, the level of complexity needed to be reduced dramatically.

contd
The Apple I, Apple's first product, was sold as an assembled circuit board and lacked basic features such as a keyboard, monitor, and case. The owner of this unit added a keyboard and a wooden case. The first Macintosh, released in 1984
The Macintosh Portable was Apple's first "portable" Macintosh computer, released in 1989.
The MacBook Pro (15.4" widescreen) was Apple's first laptop with an Intel microprocessor. It was announced in January 2006 and is aimed at the professional market.
iCloud is the easiest way to manage all the stuff. iCloud stores music, photos, apps, mail, contacts, calendars, documents, and more. And wirelessly pushes them to all into devices. Its automatic, effortless, and seamless.
Retina Display
A marketing term developed by Apple to refer to devices and monitors that have a resolution and pixel density roughly 300 or more per inch that a person is unable to discern the individual pixels at a normal viewing distance. Apples Retina Display made its debut on 2011s iphone 4S, which featured a 960*640 pixel screen with four times the number of pixels as the iPhone 4. The 2012 lines of updated Mac Book Pro and Mac Book Air notebooks are included with retina Display.
iTunes
With iTunes in the Cloud, the music, apps, and books we purchase automatically appear on all our devices. Or we can download only the stuff we want including movies and TV shows to just the devices we want.
Architectural Innovation
iPod touch
iMessage: Free text messaging to iPhone, iPad or another iPhone touch. HD video recording. Games iOS5 iCloud
Apple TV
The new Apple TV with 1080p HD gives us access to the best content blockbuster movies, TV shows, sports, music and photos, and more right on the widescreen TV. We can even play content from our iOS devices on our TV using Airplay.
Radical innovation
iPad
Its brilliant in every sense of the word. Apples radical innovation. Were actually touching our photos, reading a book, playing the piano. Nothing comes between we and what we love. To make that hands-on experience even better, we made the fundamental elements of iPad better the display, the camera, the wireless connection. All of which makes the new, thirdgeneration iPad capable of so much more than we ever imagined.
The system is that there is no system. That doesnt mean Apple dont have any processes. Apple is a very disciplined company and they have great processes. Innovation comes from people meeting up in the hallways or calling each other at 10:30 at night with a new idea, or because they realized something that shoots holes in how weve been thinking about a problem. Its adhoc meetings of six people called by someone who thinks he has figured out the coolest new thing ever and who wants to know what other people think of his idea. And it comes from saying no to 1,000 things to make sure we dont get on the wrong track or try to do too much. Were always thinking about new markets we could enter, but its only by saying no that you can concentrate on the things that are really important.
