Architectural CAD 1: Wall Section
Per instructions given in class, using the "cross section/elevation" orthographic
tool button, generate a cross-section view of one of your existing design projects
(utilize your "Vacation Home" project).
Using the CAD D,eta iT Fro nl. Vi fi!.lN button, generate a CAD view
of your cross-section. Then, starting at the base of the wall, label your drawing to
show the following, including sizes:
- Concrete footing
- Basement floor slab
- Concrete foundation wall & height
- Sill plate & size
- Floor joist and joist header & sizes
- Subfloor & size
- Sole plate & size
- Exterior wall stud, size, and total height
- Dou ble top plates & sizes
- Rafter & size, and roof pitch
- Ceiling joist for a flat ceiling
- Any insulation board for exterior sheathing & size
- Plywood roof sheathing & size
- Drywall
- Fascia
- Soffit
- Siding
- BONUS points for other components in cross-section that you
label (i.e. floor heights, grade level, etc. - see given examples
