Check office and unit temperature. Verify that the operating temperature of the unit is within the specified range of operation (0 to + 50 C). Verify that the fans filter is clean and unclogged, (see product manual section 5.3 Fan Filter Replacement on page 5-3). The unit is operating in the power saving mode. Alarm will be raised, and output power and fans are shutoff a couple of minutes after the mode if turned on. To turn the unit back to normal operating state, verify that the single way to put the unit in power saving mode are all set to off ( HTTP/SNMP command). If the above steps does not clear the alarm, contact Customer Service. The unit output has been turn off. To turn the unit output on, verify that that the following three commands are set to on, (1)Manual key switch, (2)the rear panel TTL input, and (2)the SNMP/HTTP remote command. If the key switch is turned off, the Manual Switch off LED on the front panel will also be red. If the above steps does not clear the alarm, contact Customer Service. The unit is operating in the low output power mode and the output power is limited to about 15dBm per output. To return the unit to the normal mode verify that the three ways of putting the unit in the low mode (local toggle switch, TTL input, and HTTP/SNMP remote command) are all turned off. If none of the above corrects the problem, contact Customer Service Check interlock status. If interlock is closed and unit is still in alarm state, contact customer service. Power cycle the unit. If alarm still exists, contact customer service. Check Input A voltage range.

Verify that your input signal is connected with the proper input power (range from -5 to +10dBm). Check low input power alarm threshold. Clean the input connector on the EDFA (see 5.2 Cleaning Fiber Optic Connectors on page 5-1). If none of the above corrects the problem, contact Customer Service.
Verify that the input power to the EDFA is connected with the proper level and that the Laser is enabled. Output power is below Check for other alarms, and if present, follow the normal operating setting. recommendation above to clear them.
