our business whilst maintaining our excellent record of customer satisfaction, which is

HISTORY
Hobson & Porter was formed by Pete Hobson and Bernard Porter in 1971.
Pete Hobson subsequently took full ownership of the company, and remains the
company Chairman. Bernard Porter continues to work for us as a Senior Site
Manager. The business grew steadily, and in 1997 we moved into our new offices at
Malmo Road. We work for local authorities, housing associations, schools and
colleges, developers and blue chip local clients. Around 90% of our work is repeat
business or framework projects.

CUSTOMER FOCUS
How many contractors or businesses can claim to have a customer satisfaction rate of
over 90%? At Hobson & Porter customer satisfaction is our number one priority, as
we believe that by retaining our valued customers we are able to develop productive
relationships and develop a better understanding of our customers’ needs. Our ability
to deliver industry-leading levels of customer satisfaction has led to our selection on
many partnered and framework contracts.

SAFETY
All contractors will say they are committed to safety. At Hobson & Porter we can
prove it. We have been the leading performer in the Hull Building Safety Group in
each of the last four years. The Hull Building Safety Group includes most of our
regional competitors, and involves inspections of around 120 sites nationwide. Our
focus on working safely is formed from years of working on live sites in and around
peoples’ homes, schools and workplaces.

redevelopments. We are framework
partners with both Hull and East Riding

the further and higher education sectors.

completed in 2006, and was followed by an
integrated Social Studies building and drama studio
along with an extensive Student Services and
Refectory area. This was followed by new cladding
to the front elevation of the main building on
Saltshouse Road and was completed in July 2007.
A £12.5m redevelopment of the campus at
Wyke College in Hull is due for completion in 2009.
The new college site will be built alongside the
existing one so lectures will not be affected. This
project follows the successful completion of the
£1.6m Wilson Building in 2005. At the same time
we were appointed to construct a new £2.6m
sports hall and multi-games area at neighbouring
Kelvin Hall School.
