Mark equipment designation on drawing. Schedule and specify equipment in construction documents. Coordinate electric data (motor control, emergency interlocks) locations with electrical engineer. Coordinate plumbing data (floor drains and water makeup) with plumbing engineer. Coordinate fire protection data with fire protection engineer. Coordinate structural data (weights, housekeeping pad, inertia pads) with structural engineer. Show associated automatic temperature control and direct digital control panel on drawing(s). Coordinate location with project one-line diagram. Check access around equipment (section needed?). Mark direction of flow (arrows) on piping and flue gas. Indicate reference to applicable detail on drawing. Indicate control devices indicated on detail.

Coordinate sequence of operation with flow diagram. Include head pressure calculations in job folder. Include gpm at each main/branch on flow diagram. Coordinate electric data with electrical engineer. Coordinate plumbing data (gas load, gas pressure) with plumbing engineer. Coordinate fire protection data with fire protection engineer. Coordinate structural data with structural engineer. Complete design intent document. Complete system readiness (startup) sheet(s). Complete verification test procedure(s).

Base boiler selection on competent review of selection parameters according to ASHRAE Systems & Equipment Handbook 2000: Applicable codes under which the boiler is constructed and tested. Gross boiler heat input and output. Total heat transfer surface area. Water content weight or volume. Auxiliary power requirement. Service area clearance for fireside and waterside heat transfer clearance. Combustion air ventilation. Room ventilation. Gas vent piping. Fuel oil pump location. Space and piping arrangement. Water treatment requirements. Operating personnel capabilities and mainte nance/operation requirements. Regulatory requirements for emissions, fuel usage/storage. Select boiler under applicable codes. Base layout on one-line diagram.
