Open Cut Blast Design

JKBench is a cut-down version of 2DBench, the JKSimBlast module for Open Cut Blast Design and Analysis. JKBench has many of the same features as 2DBench - a complete blast design with strings, holes, decks and delays, detonation simulation and basic analyses. For a full description of the features of JKBench, refer to the JKBench Overview on the disk. There is no hard copy documentation supplied with JKBench. All documentation on the use of the program is included in the on-line help. This installation guide is also available on the CD as JKBench_install.pdf. The JKBench software license includes 30 days of after-sales support. Ongoing support can be purchased for an annual fee. Contact Soft-Blast for details.

Installation
JKBench can be installed and operated either in demonstration mode without a security key or in full mode with a security key. If you are installing under Windows NT or 2000, you may need Administrator privileges for software installation. If you are running the installation from this page on your web browser, click the links below to start the installation program for JKBench. On the next screen, select "Run this program ...". This is followed by a security warning regarding viruses for installation directly from the internet, which can be ignored in this case (answer yes). It may take several seconds before the setup program starts. If nothing seems to happen or your browser does not allow you to run external programs, then you may have to run the programs manually via Windows Explorer or the Start/Run command.

1 - Install JKBench
Run [disk]:\install\JKBench\setup.exe to start the installation program.

2 - Install Security Key Drivers

The security key is the license to run JKBench. The program will run without a key in demonstration mode; however, the drivers must be loaded for the program to operate. In demonstration mode the design, editing and analysis features are available, but you cannot save, print or copy from the program. To install the drivers, run [disk]:\install\Hardlock\hldrv32.exe. Plug in the key to turn on the output features.
