During Christmas break at home in Korea, Yoonki Lee didnt plan to share his personal growth at GIS or court case news. But people wanted to listen. At a dinner party, with about 30 family friends and supporters, they asked for a quick update. I shared how grateful and thankful I am for Grace. My first year and a half here was very difficult. I was 6th grade and often cried in my dorm bathroom, because I missed my family so much. Since then, Ive learned to depend on God a lot more, Yoonki said. When teachers saw I was lonely, staff often gave me a hug and encouraging words. They were more than only teachers. And as I depended on God more, I began to enjoy life as an MK. Im 10th grade now. Recently, God showed me He wants young men and women as future leaders. At GIS we learn to excel academically and also show Gods love to the community. He saw God move in peoples hearts over our court case. Yoonki only asked them to pray; God did the rest. About a week later, the friends surprised the family with a 600,000 won group donation, to help build the bigger school, serving more students. A few days later, Yoonkie shared his personal growth and GIS prayer need at his home church of about 200 people. I was really nervous. I didnt know them well, and my Korean isnt fluent. But God was amazing; He gave me peace. Again, many people were moved. Its uncommon for students to speak to adult groups in his culture, which worried him, but they heard him share his heart. Many said theyd pray. The Sunday morning I was flying back to Thailand in the evening totally unexpected a pastor friend of my dads said, Boy, you have to talk to us too! About 100 people heard my passion for GIS, and without being asked, they donated about 100,000 won. Im really thankful God lets me live as an MK, to experience more cultures. God also gives me a passion to show His love. Every day is new, and I want to depend on

what distress we are in... Nehemiah 2:17. A window of opportunity exists, while the Thai Supreme Court decides to hear our appeal. Nehemiah 2:17-18 reminds: let us get to work, building up the wall(secondary buildings). Our work is educating 600 missionary children, supporting their 340+ ministering families. But each year some are turned away. Nehemiah 2:20 says, The God of heaven, he will be our help; so we his servants will go on with our building... Likewise, Grace supporters offer time, talent, and treasure, to build more space. Nehemiah four shows people poking fun: ...look at those weak and feeble efforts... Likewise, some ask: How can GIS raise 4.5 million USD for secondary buildings? Theres no way theyll build the entire campus for 13.5 million USD. Who do these missionaries think they are? Eventually, Israels progress angered their enemies. But because God led the GIS board in 2006 to plan expansion, we continue, like Israel, to pray and work hard. Can you share time, talent, treasure, and be our prayer warrior? Nehemiah said, Have no fear of themthe Lord is great and greatly to be fearedour God will fight for us. He is greater than challenges; our victory is won, when we fight the spiritual battle of faith not with swords or spears but with prayers and praise! Donation Touchdown
Give A Days Pay made a unique field goal in November and December 2013, raising more than $15,000 US! This creative initiative gave GIS friends, families, churches, supporters, parents, alumni, staff, and even students a quick way to help our capital campaign gain yardage. A bigger, future school will educate more MK students and serve their families. People shared the deadline in newsletters, emails, and social media, like Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. The website had a fast calculator with 13 world-wide currencies where people typed a days/weeks/months/or years wage, to automatically figure one days donation. It was so easy, Grace may use it again in the future, Advancement Director Matt Coe said. Many thanks to everyone who participated for Grace!
