Package lots. Label for recycling or disposal by burning. For 1 g: Dissolve in 100 mL of 3M sulfuric acid. Add 10 g of potassium permanganate in small portions. Stir mixture overnight. Add solid sodium bisulfite until solution is colorless. Neutralize with 5% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and pour down the drain. Discard small quantity of brown solid as normal refuse.
