What is Destination Maths?
Destination Maths is an internationally acclaimed, animated, audiovisual, interactive Mathematics program. It is available in Afrikaans and South African English and includes a printable teacher's manual. There are three different courses available.

What are the different courses?

The ICT Support for Foundations for Learning (Mathematics) program is a selection of sessions for learners from Grade R to Grade 7+ and covers some of the Numbers and Operations content the learners often battle with.

The Mastering Skills and Concepts I and II programs are Mathematics sessions for Foundation Phase and include aspects such as working with numbers, addition, subtraction, measurement, geometry, shapes and patterns.

What is Destination Reading?
Destination Reading is an internationally acclaimed, animated, audiovisual, interactive English literacy and language program. It was specically developed as a teaching and learning tool and works very well as an introductory video used on an interactive whiteboard. It is available in UK English. It is aimed at primary school learners and includes a printable teacher's manual. There are eight different courses available.

What are the different courses?

The ICT Support for Foundations for Learning (Reading) program consists of eight different CDs, called 'Minibytes' which can be bought separately. There are three CDs aimed at younger learners or weaker readers, namely: Literacy I, Grammar and Spelling I, and Writing and Comprehension I. Five more CDs are aimed at older learners or more advanced readers and these include Phonics, Literacy II and III, Grammar and Spelling II, and Writing and Comprehension II.

Talking Textbook
What is a Talking Textbook?
A Talking Textbook is a textbook in digital format with continuous audiovisual support and a 'built-in tutor'. A user can click on each example or exercise to get a short audiovisual tutorial. Many keywords and some of the difcult concepts are also explained in this way. These courses are available in English and Afrikaans.

Short Dynamic Interactive Courses

What are the Dynamic Short Courses?
These short courses make it possible for a learner to ll a knowledge gap in Mathematics or catch up where he or she fell behind in a maths technique. A learner can click on each example or exercise to get a short audiovisual tutorial. Many keywords and some of the difcult concepts are also explained in this way. Each course ends with an interactive assessment using multiple choice questions and the results can be submitted to Via Afrika Future who issues a competency certicate. An audiovisual memorandum is made available to the learner to enhance their learning experience. These courses are available in English and Afrikaans.

Which courses are available?

These courses are being developed all the time and to date there are more than 30 courses available. These include: Calculus 1, 2 and 3, Euclidian Geometry (Proportionality), Logarithms, Euclidian Geometry (Circles), Euclidian Geometry (Polygons), Euclidian Geometry (Similarity), The Hyperbola, Analytical Geometry (Circles), Exponential Graphs, Linear Programming, Remainder and Factor Theorem, Trigonometry (Solving Triangles), Algebraic Fractions, Analytical Geometry, Exponents, Factorisation, Financial Mathematics, Functions and Relations, Number patterns, Series and Sequences, Probability, Quadratic Equations, Statistics, The Linear Function (Straight Line Graph), The Quadratic Function (Parabola), Transformations, Trigonometry 1 and 2.

DVDs

Physical Sciences Experiments (DVD)

Experts demonstrate FET Physical Sciences experiments step-by-step using complete science laboratory equipment on these useful DVDs. The video can be viewed on a computer or on a television using a DVD machine. The DVD is accompanied by a printable teacher's manual and learner's workbook. These DVDs are available in English and Afrikaans for Grades 10 to 12.

Physical Education is Fun! (DVD)

This exercise programme can be used on its own or as part of the Life Orientation curriculum. The programme was designed and is demonstrated by biokineticists and each DVD covers a school phase, from the Foundation Phase to the FET phase. These DVDs are available in English and Afrikaans.

Using Multimedia to Facilitate Learning

What is this?
This is a complete course aimed at teachers. The course discusses a variety of media technologies that are available in classrooms in South Africa and around the world. This accredited course meets the requirements of SAQA ID 114476 (Use multimedia to facilitate and mediate learning: NQF 5: 12 credits). It is available in English and Afrikaans.
