CDR Based Audit System (CDRAS 1.0.2 V) for Level-I TAX /Level II TAX and SDCC
Tandem Exchanges of EWSD, OCB, AXE-10, 5ESS and CDOT Technologies

Introduction: Consequent to the commissioning of IOBAS the ASPs of IOBAS are collecting the
raw CDR files from the respective POIs through different network elements on regular basis and
generating the Invoices against the OLOs(Other License Operators) at the end of the month. At
the same time, It is vital to have an information about Total No. Of CDR Records, Total No. Of
Calls (I/C and O/G), MCU details etc with the POI In-charge for the verification of the Invoice and
Statements generated by the ASP. It is learnt that the POI In-charges and the concerned officers
finding it difficult to compare the correctness of the Bills. Therefore IT Project Circle has developed
a user-friendly tool, which enables the user to get the summary of details of the CDRs that he is
dumping in the POI-PC which enables him to verify the Invoices that are generated by the ASPs of
IOBAS.

Where it can be implemented: This System can be implemented at any of the POIs of EWSD,
OCB, AXE-10, 5ESS and CDOT Technologies.

Hardware: Any PC with normal configuration can be used for this purpose. However for POIs
where large Data is there, Pentium IV with 256 MB RAM can be used.

Software: Operating System can be Windows -95 or above. No additional software is needed
other than the Application software CDRAS 1.0.2V.

How to load the CDR Data on to the PC:

a) EWSD: Incase of EWSD Exchange the CDR data i.e. the AMA file that is taken daily has to be
copied onto the PC in a separate folder. The AMA file can be copied either by using OpenFT
Utility or can be copied directly from the MOD, if MOD reader exists.
b) OCB: In case of OCB exchange the CDR data can be loaded through data cartridge using
NOVAXCHANGE Software.
c) CDOT: In case of CDOT exchange the data can be loaded to PC using zmodem in Hyper
Terminal. (All Windows Operating Systems come with HyperTerminal Communication tool.)
Or
Data can be copied from the Cartridge directly to the PC if Cartridge Drive is available in the PC.
d) AXE-10: Data can be copied on to the System using the OD reader or directly from Switch
using Man Machine Commands.
e) 5ESS: Data can be copied on to the System using the DAT Drive.
(* If the Data Drives mentioned above are existing in any existing UNIX Server then the data can
be copied first on to Unix System and then copied on to the CD for further processing with
CDRAS.
** The PC with Cartridge Drive and Nova Exchange Software Version 3.0, that is meant for OCB
can be used for CDOT also for downloading the CDOT backup, by choosing the option tar-in and
tar-out)

Installation Procedure for Downloaded Package: Copy the cdras1.0.2 in a temporary folder
and unzip it. Choose the proper batch file for installation. For example run WXP_INST.BAT, if the

Operating System is Windows XP. A link gets created in the Programs. Double
clicking the Icon take you to the CDRAS Program.

How to use: It is assumed that the software (CDRAS 1.0.2) is loaded in to the PC as described in
the Para no: 6. It is also assumed that CDR data is maintained in the PC as per Para no: 5.
The Administration Menu looks as below (See Fig.1). The System is consisting of
basic options, which are described, in the following paras.

8. Configure: The following details are to be configured first through Configure option and click on
Save the Modifications in the current screen option to save the entered Parameters (See Fig.2).

Configure the other Details: This option enables the user to enter the following data.
a) Operators Data: Operator code, operator name, operator type.
It is advised to give the Operator Codes as 000,001,002 etc. The code 000 is used by the system
for BSNL (See Fig.3).

b) Trunk Group Data: TGP number, operator code, etc. If there is any addition and deletion of
Trunk Groups or modification of POI Data etc. in the TAX, then the changes are to be incorporated
in this System also. In case of OCB, INDT Values are to be entered instead of Trunk Group
Numbers (See Fig.4).

10. Audit: Through this option POI In-charge can select the file (See Fig.5), which has to be
processed (Click on Run Audit for process). Multiple file selection is also possible for which you
need to select Bulk Process under Process Options which is available in the Options Tab. The
Batch file can be prepared by clicking the Prepare Batch file Option under Audit Tab.
Audit performs the following .
i. It converts the Binary File into a dbf file.
ii. Then creates a summary file ( tgpaudit.dbf.) Tgp-wise and Date-wise.
( It does not perform any other operation like categorizing, rating etc. The process
will take 3 to 5 minutes to process one file of OCB-R24 of 64 Mb size.)

11. Options: This helps POI In-charge to select Process options as per their needs to process single
file or multiple files (See fig.6).
The user can clean up the Summary Files by choosing Cleanup option. Cleanup will delete all
the summary information, which was processed earlier and prepares the System to start
afresh.
Checking the Remove duplicates check box removes the duplicates records from the total
records.

Checking the DBFdump check box provides a backup of Data in the DBF format for every file
that is audited. The user needs to specify the folder name where he wanted to preserve the
DBF files.

12. Reports: POI In-charge can view/Print the different reports by entering the necessary inputs (See
Fig.7).

a) Operator wise Call Report: This gives TGP/INDT wise, Operator wise details of Total No.of
Calls, Duration and MCUs for the given period (See Fig.8).

b) Non Ratable Trunk Group Report: This gives TGP/INDT wise details of Total No.of Calls,
Duration and MCUs for I/C and O/G whatever the case may be (see fig.9).
Note: The POI In-charge has to verify if any Interconnect INDT/TGPs are coming under this category.

d) Mediation Report (File wise): This gives the details of the files that are processed through the system
(See Fig.11).

e) View Any Database File: The user can view any of the database files through this option.
f) View TGP Summary File: This option gives the user to view the TGPwise date,total calls,total duration
and total units for both incoming and outgoing(See fig.12).

This option enables the user to view the CDR contents of the file/files available in the back-up folder specified
in Para10. This option allows to build a suitable query according to the requirement of the user for viewing and
printing (See Fig13). User has to select the appropriate file or folder, for which query has applied, through File
merge option. Number of selected file count will be displayed on the same screen (see fig.14).If the queried
output data is very huge he can upload the data to an Excel Sheet (Total number of output records not to
exceed 65,536) or a Text File for further viewing. The user needs to specify any folder for this purpose, where
he wanted to upload the file (See fig.15).

Procedure to create DAT file on PC using NOVAXCHANGE Software :
1) Write protect the cartridge and insert in "TANDBERG DATA drive.
Click on "Novaxchange".
2) Selection function "copy tape to disk".
3) In "Define tape input" select "Tapefiles" option.
4) Select "Browse".
5) Click on Next file" three times untilI to get <file_0003> in "select files to copy option.
6) Select "select all" option.
7) Select "OK" option.
8) Select "Next" option.
9) In "Define disk output" select "browse. Select D:\RAWDATA\ or C:\RAWDATA as per User's
requirement.
10) Select "Next" option.
11) Select "Perform Data Entry".
12) "

" mark will be displayed to "Perform Data Copy".

13) Rename the file <file_0003>.

14) Delete files<file_0001> and <file_0002>.

Procedure to Download Raw Data from IOP to PC in CDOT Exchange (SBM/MBM):

1) Connect one of the ports of either of the IOP (ASIO2 / ASIO4) to any of the COM ports of the PC.
2) Open HyperTerminal in the PC and wait for the login.
3) Login in to the IOP giving the proper login and password and wait for the

4) And then give
iop5c > cd /data/dump
5) Select Transfer in the Menu and choose terminal file then select the
proper folder to download the CDR files (tgcbrddmm.dat) and set the receiving protocol as Zmodem and
then close the window.
6) At the iop5c> prompt give the following to download the CDR files.
iop5 c> SZ tgcbrDDmm.dat
This file will be transfered to the PC in its binary format .This file has to be taken as input for processing.
Procedure to Download Raw Data from Data Cartridge using NOVA Exchange Software meant for OCB:
1) Write protect the cartridge and insert in TANDBERG DATA drive.
Click on Novaxchange.
2) Check the boxes Tar in and Tar Out .
3) Choose Dump Tape Data and enter the File Destination to which the files are to be
copied.
4) And then select Perform Data Copy.
This will copy all the files (tgcbrDDmm.Dat Files) on to the hard disk.

15 Installation Procedure for Downloaded Package: Copy the cdrbbs1.10.8 in a temporary folder
and unzip it. Choose the proper batch file for installation. For example run WXP_INST.BAT, if the
