in software projects, in detail. This product develops a system that can be used by all the departments of a software organization. In the conventional method of effort tracking all the efforts are dealt manually .The progress of the efforts are also checked in person, which is a time taking task. It fulfills different requirements of administrator and employees of a software development organization. The specific purpose of the system is to gather and resolve the efforts rose on different projects handled by the organization. The key entities of this system are administrator, efforts, departments,Employees , projects, knowledge elements. The activities relating to this system are listing efforts, listing projects, listing employees, listing knowledge elements administration tasks. A web application has to be developed which would be implemented in the place of current existing manual system. This project would automate the operations of the administrator and would retain the present functionality available in the current system. Need for the System: Every organization maintains the details of the employees, departments and projects that are associated with it. The administrator of the organization is sole responsible for the maintenance of the entire system. If the organization size is average (around 100 employees) then the administrator can manually handle the system but, if the size increases then managing the work will be cumbersome, tedious and error prone. In order to make it a bit easy, a web-based system is need so that by involving the GUI any authorized employee can access the system for viewing the efforts And the task of the administrator becomes easy. The information system is needed to incorporate all factors, which help the manager to take timely decisions and provide a better and more efficient service.A proper system is the one that has good management and a good management always requires the information in all fields in a proper and effective manner.
