SIMATIC Welcome to WinAC MP 2008 Update 3

This Readme file contains important information for current product deficiencies that are corrected by WinAC MP 2008 Update 3. Please read this information before you install and operate the software. This Update is cumulative; it also includes the corrections of previous Updates. Before installing the WinAC MP 2008 Update 3 software, ensure that WinCC flexible 2008 SP1 and WinAC MP 2008 are already installed on your engineering system. When Update is installed on your engineering system, you will need to transfer the runtime files of the WinAC MP 2008 option to the multi panels of type MP 177, MP 277 or MP 377. If the option was already installed on a multi panel MP 177, MP 277 or MP 377, it must be deinstalled before Update 3 transfer. Note: If additional languages are installed on the engineering system after installation of Update 3 of the WinAC MP 2008 option, a reinstallation of Update 3 will be required. The following behaviour is corrected by WinAC MP 2008 Update 3: If several external communication partners were sending a connection request at the same time when starting up WinAC MP 2008, it did happen sporadically that not all connections could be established. During startup of WinAC MP in connection with PROFIBUS DP communication, it could happen in rare cases that the loaded STEP 7 user program was not recognized. Due to an improvement in PROFIBUS DP communication, this behavior no longer occurs.

Notes on Use

2.1 Essential system characteristics of WinAC MP 2008

New software PLC WinAC MP 177 for MP 177 6'' Touch Improved time behavior through conversion to "HMI Enable Time" With WinAC MP, you can configure retentive data for bit memory, S7 timers, S7 counters and data blocks. Even if there is a power down while WinAC MP is running, the current values of the retentive DBs or bit memory, timers and counters are not lost. When you restart WinAC MP again, you can access the last saved values of these retentive memory bits, timers, counters and DBs. B-Send / B-Receive now available in WinAC MP 2008. The performance during online monitoring via PROFINET has been improved for WinAC MP 2008. New screen forms integrated into WinCC flexible system library. A new parameter has been added in WinAC MP 2008 to specify the file path for system functions Archive and Restore. WinAC MP supports time synchronization between the HMI device and the WinAC MP installed on it. Routing with S7 communication is possible with WinAC MP. You configure WinAC MP in STEP 7 as an HMI station and not as a PC station. WinAC MP supports only the OB 35 as cyclic interrupt. Expansion of the IO address area from 2k to 4k for MP 277 SCL / CFC programming Additional technical specifications are available in the in the section "Technical specifications" in the operating instructions for WinAC MP 2008.

Notes on Use 2.2 Notes on configuration and operation

2.2 Notes on configuration and operation

Notes on configuration and operation
1. Changing a program that uses S7 program block communication. If you change the SFBs for point-to-point communication (SFB8/SFB9, SFB12/SFB13 and SFB14/SFB15) or the instance DBs for these SFBs, you must always download the complete program, including DBs, to all affected CPUs. Do not download just the SFB or the DB. 2. The entry in the diagnostic buffer "Time of-day interrupt(s) skipped due to new clock setting" (event ID 16#3505) shows up when the time is changed or replaced with the event 16#35A1 "User interface (OB 10) not found". You determine the sequence of events based on the time stamps. When OB10 (time-of-day interrupt) is enabled and the time of the WinAC MP 2008 control engine is put forward so that the start time of OB10 has been skipped, OB10 executes immediately. In this case, the above event ID 16#3505 is entered in the diagnostic buffer. This entry is not always made, however. 3. The time functions of the WinAC MP operate at a resolution of one millisecond [ms]. As a result of this and the internal processing times, the specified wait time on SFC 47 can be delayed up to 1 ms. 4. When a memory reset is performed on a large program, the online connection may be lost in STEP 7. Nevertheless, the complete memory reset is carried out. After the memory reset, WinAC MP can be reached online again with STEP 7. This can take several minutes. 5. The following language settings have been released on the configuration computer: German, English UK, English US, French, Spanish, Italian Chinese (Chinese simplified) and Taiwanese (Chinese traditional) Japanese and Korean All other languages supported by Microsoft are not released. 6. Configuring the WinAC MP update functions (for example UpdateHMIEnableTime) is permitted only once per screen. The WinAC MP update function must be configured for the "Screen loaded" event with the Action parameter "SwitchOn". The WinAC MP update function must be configured for the "Screen cleared" event with the Action parameter "SwitchOff". If a function is called more than once with different variables in one screen, only the variable activated last is updated. You should therefore only use identical variables as parameters of the functions within a screen. 7. If the "StartAtBootOn" parameter is active for the WinAC MP "SetWinACStartAtBoot" function, WinAC MP starts automatically not only after power cycling the multi panel, but also when restarting WinCC Flexible Runtime. 8. Printing with WinCC flexible system functions If WinAC MP 2008 is started on the multi panel, the delay before a print job executes is extended by approximately 30%.

Notes on Use 2.2 Notes on configuration and operation

9. If you start to uninstall the WinAC MP option using ProSave and if automatic transfer detection (remote control) is active, the runtime is ended and the uninstall procedure started even if WinCC flexible Runtime has started and WinAC MP 2008 is in RUN. 10.The WinAC MP system functions "Archive" and "Restore" can only be used with S7 user programs requiring up to a maximum of 1.2 MB load memory. With S7 user programs requiring more than 1.2 MB of load memory, you have the alternative of using Backup/Restore in the "Control Panel" of the HMI device with which all data (image, WinAC MP option, S7 user program, ...) can be backed up and restored. 11.The following functions are not currently released when WinAC MP 2008 is installed on the HMI device: "Uninstalling the WinAC MP option", "Operating system update of the HMI device", backup or restore function via Teleservice, TS Adapter or direct connection with the configuration computer over PROFIBUS-DP. Backing up/restoring can be performed simply using standard storage devices * (SD, MM card or USB stick) on the HMI device itself. The content of the backup standard storage device can be compressed as a ZIP file (may be more than 10 MB) and is easy to send as an E-mail. It also presents no problem for the recipient to write the content of the ZIP file to a standard storage device (SD, MM card or USB stick). Using the restore function, a backup can therefore be restored directly on the HMI device. As an alternative to sending the file by E-mail, it can also be forwarded via an FTP server. It is also possible to execute all normal functions (backup, restore, operating system update, ...) from a configuration computer over an Ethernet connection with ProSave. * Storage devices approved by Siemens are preferable 12.If you use a DP interface module with WinAC MP 177, MP 277 or MP 377, 244 slots (regardless of the number of bytes) are released for use. If you use between 2 and 32 DP interface modules, a maximum of 30 slots (regardless of the number of bytes) are released for each DP interface module. 13.If the WinAC MP option is not yet installed on the multi panel, but a WinCC flexible runtime project has already been transferred to the multi panel with a WinAC MP Softbus connection, "automatic transfer detection" no longer works over PROFIBUS. Change to transfer mode manually or transfer a WinCC flexible Runtime project without a Softbus connection or install WinAC MP 2008 option on the HMI device. 14.The "Counter" and "Time" data types can be configured as parameters for WinAC MP functions, but are not released with WinAC MP. Use a different configurable data type (e.g. Int) as parameter of a WinAC MP system function. 15.You can download a Getting Started video for step-by-step instructions of the installation: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/32010673. 16.Before you transfer the WinCC flexible project and the WinCC flexible Runtime files to the HMI device, you need to install the WinAC MP option on the target device. 17.You cannot configure a routing connection from an HMI device to a SIMATIC CPU via two or more routers (such as SIMATIC HMI Station with WinAC MP) in the WinCC flexible ES Connection editor. This means a WinCC flexible Runtime connection via two or more routers will not be supported. 18.There may be limitations during operation of WinCC flexible options in case of excessive processor load of the HMI device with WinAC MP. 19.The WinCC flexible system function ChangeConnection to change an OP connection between a local WinAC and an external CPU is not supported.

Notes on Use 2.2 Notes on configuration and operation

20.If you encounter overload conditions when logging large quantities of data with WinCC flexible tag or alarm logging, reduce the number of tags you want to archive or the number of data records per log or increase the logging cycle of the tags. You recognize overload conditions by the following system alarms: $80012 Logging overload Values will be lost and $80013 Overload during logging finished

Some of these system alarms may extend the runtime of the OB1 cycle.. 21.When you export a project from Step7 (CFG), the parameter "Location code" of a WinAC MP station will not be exported. 22.When you "Shutdown => Start" WinAC MP in the home screen, WinAC MP will sporadically fail to start. In this case please re-boot the unit.
