FUNNEL TUNNEL LIGHTING CEREMONY

Houston, TX (February 5, 2014): Art League Houston (ALH) is excited to invite the public to a LIGHTING CEREMONY for Patrick Renners FUNNEL TUNNEL on Thursday, February 13, 6:30 8 PM in the ALH Front Gallery. The event will feature a live DJ, light snacks, and beer from Saint Arnolds Brewing Company. Limited edition signed FUNNEL TUNNEL t-shirts, designed by one of ALHs fabulous Interns Hayley McSwain, will be available along with a limited edition FUNNEL TUNNEL photograph by rising Houston-based photographer Dave Salinas.

Special thanks to Brandon Kuehler, Owner and Founder of Light It Right and Brilliance LED, LLC for generously donating their services to help light the FUNNEL TUNNEL.

ABOUT FUNNEL TUNNEL The FUNNEL TUNNEL is a recent public art installation by artist Patrick Renner, commissioned by Art League Houston. The snaking 180 foot sculpture was built from steel and reclaimed wood and snakes its way down a median outside the ALH building. Art League Houston has a tradition of brightening Houstons public spaces with thought provoking and beautiful installations of art seen by many motorists on their daily commute. ABOUT ART LEAGUE HOUSTON The mission of Art League Houston is to cultivate awareness, appreciation and accessibility of contemporary visual art within the community for its cultural enrichment. Art League Houston presents contemporary exhibitions and programs that are aesthetically strong, and that provide the community with the opportunity to explore topics of cultural, humanistic, and social relevance.
