Role Overview The role of Technical Architect is responsible for the technical design, support and delivery of all complex customer solutions delivered by NTTEO. The role consists of five main elements: Pre-sales engagement with customers to define and promote hosting and ICT solutions. Technical Lead on solution deployment projects, including hands on configuration of complex components. Providing 3rd line support during office hours to our senior support team Ongoing technical authority role with our larger customers Providing pure consultancy engagements, such as PCI audits and report writing

The role requires excellent technical skills across a wide range of Internet technologies and training will be provided where appropriate. The primary work location will be at NTTEO UK headquarters in St Katherines Dock, London. Depending on project requirements occasional travel outside the M25 and abroad may be required. This role will report to the Engagement Director as part of a team, currently consisting of 6 Senior Technical Architects.

Key Duties Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Delivery of technical solutions to large scale customer deals pre and post sales. Following training, demonstrable skills with NTTEO employed technologies. Accurate and timely diagnosis and rectification of customer faults that are escalated from 2nd line support teams. Maintenance of technical competencies across a wide ranging set of Internet technologies Occasional on-call/out of hours responsibilities Ensure that any proposed design or alteration is well considered and supportable Create project and process documentation Employ soft skills to assist in creating a positive experience for the customer. Participate in consultancy work

Description of the Relationships and Roles The person in this position will: Report to Engagement Director for day-to-day activities Secondary reporting responsibility to the Project Manager Acquire technical assistance from fellow Technical Architects and other NTTEO groups

Skills and Experiences The following experience is required to apply for this role: Design and implementation of resilient, secure, multi-tier website infrastructure. Technical authority and consultancy skills Pre-sales engagement in corporate environments Proven ability to work under pressure and with other people. Tenacious attention to detail and quality. Time management and self motivation skills

The candidate must be able to demonstrate good technical skill in the following areas: TCP/IP principles L4-7 Load balancing and SSL Offload (preferably Alteon and Netscaler platform) SAN, NAS & ISCSI concepts (Preferably Network Appliance and IBM DS platform)

MS Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008, Including Clustering and AD Knowledge of at least one UNIX/LINUX OS (Preferably Solaris or Redhat) Programming concepts in at least one language (pref perl or python) DNS/BIND HTTP/FTP (including Caching and reverse proxy) Firewalls and IPSec/VPN (Preferably Checkpoint or Fortigate) An understanding of database principles VMWare and general virtualization concepts. Use of Microsoft Office and Visio

Skills in the following areas would also be of benefit: SMTP (preferably exim or sendmail) Solaris, Linux (Redhat and Debian) Database administration Microsoft SQL [optionally Oracle, MySQL, Postgres] Veritas or SUN Cluster MS Exchange Experience of Web oriented applications (e.g. IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Windows Media Server) IBM Server and Storage products Content delivery and streaming Experience of working within a professional services consultancy environment. VDI and/or Citrix Presentation Server

Education and Professional Qualifications All optional Microsoft - MCSE/MCP Cisco - CCNA/CCNP RedHat - RHCT/RHCE Nortel/Alteon (SSL and Application Switching) - ACE/other Network Appliance Certified - NetCache and/or Filer Checkpoint Certified CCSA/CCSE VMware certified professional VCP BCS, ISEB Certificate in IS Consultancy Practice Location

Devon House, St. Katharines Dock, London, E1W 1LB. Occasional travel to customers premises and European facilities
