Ethernet Communication PC IEDs RAS dial-up conn RAS extends networks to phone lines
RAS is a feature built into Windows NT that enables users to log into an NTbased LAN using a modem, X.25 connection or WAN link. RAS works with several major network protocols, including TCP/IP. To use RAS from a remote node, you need a RAS client program, which is built into most versions of Windows, or any PPP client software. For example, most remote control programs work with RAS.
Ethernet Communication PC IEDs RAS dial-up conn RAS extends networks to phone lines
RAS topology consists of two PCs: one PC locates in the network control center where the PCM600 is running and the other PC locates in the substation for RAS server. RAS server connects then to fixed station bus
The server running Remote Access is configured to allow remote access clients to connect to the private network by dialing into the modem.
