components of the Matrix COSEC application softwa re. System requirements Below are the requirements and recommendations for systems on which you intend t o run the COSEC application components. However, you need to ensure that the IIS component is installed on the computer where the COSEC Web and the Matrix Secu tiy Service components are to be installed. Requirements are the basic suggested system components necessary to install and run all the COSEC components on a si ngle computer; recommendations are the optimum suggested system components. Intel Pentium processor Windows XP Prof. SP3 or higher with the IIS component 1 GB of RAM installed Minimum of 1 GB of available hard-disk space recommended for installation - Video card with 1024 x 780 resolution and 8-bit/256 colors; 24-bit, high -resolution display recommended CD-ROM drive 10/100 Mbps Network Interface card Installing the COSEC application Use the following procedure to install the Matrix COSEC application and its comp onents from the COSEC Installer CD. You cannot run any of the COSEC application components directly from the CD; you must install the program files onto your ha rd disk. Before you install, note the following: Install the IIS component on the computer. This is required as COSEC Web as well as the Security Service components need the IIS component. The COSEC installer automatically checks the computer for the .Net Framework 3.5 and the Windows Installer and in their absence installs them on the computer. In the presence of all of the above components the COSEC Installer Autorun utili ty will run and provides a single and user friendly interface for installation o f the selected COSEC components with the minimum of user intervention. However, in the event of the Autorun functionality being disabled at the Operati ng system level the user would have to browse to the installation CD and double click on the COSEC Installer utility.
